Turning Nexus 7 into bedside alarm clock/weather advisor/music maker

In short: I'd like to be able to drop my Nexus 7 into the dock and then have it function as my bedside alarm clock/clock/show the weather all from the homescreen.

Anyone have any suggestions or apps that would allow for that? I'm worried about screen burn in and brightness so I'd like if it would black out until I touch it without having to go through all of the unlocking nonsense at 3am when I just want to check the time.

I think an app called "Dashclock" gets pretty close, but I'm open to suggestions.

The end goal is just being able to use the tablet to take a glance and see the time, the weather outside and have it wake me up. I'm going to pair it to a bluetooth speaker/clock in the bathroom so that I can then just flick on pandora or a playlist and have a little bit of tunes in the morning while I get ready.

The paid version of AutomateIt will do this via changing the unlock behavior on your tablet. You can set it for, say, 11pm, to disable the lock functionality, and then at 7am, re-enable the lock functionality. Then, you'd just have to set up widgets on one of your homepages that contained all of that information, so you'd have a fair amount of flexibility there.

The cheap option is to just disable the lock screen entirely, or find another app similar to AutomateIt that will let you fiddle with lock screen behavior.
