Important to note from that sale is that it confirms Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and Demon's Souls are coming to PS+ in June.
    I missed that. Good spot.

No problem. June should be pretty interesting, as the year-long games (LBP2, Infamous 2, Motorstorm Apocalypse for PAL subscribers and R&C All 4 One for NA subscribers) should be swapped out at that point.

Also, it looks like this weeks PAL update is going to be rubbish. Most of the big games are usually already on the store at this point but so far we've only got Alien Spidy and a ton of DLC...

That is a good reason. Also this sale is frustrating. I really wanted Ni No Kuni but timing is terrible. Plus I've not tried Dragon's dogma out yet. Or Metal Gear Rising for that matter. Yeesh I should stop buying games now.

If I downloaded and played the EU Sleeping Dogs, can that save game be used with the US version?

I already mostly got my fill of the game. It would be nice if I could use the save to wrap up any trophies and 100% it. Otherwise I've no real desire to start over again from scratch. Maybe in a few years if I get the itch to play it again.

I believe they're two separate versions. Check the language settings. If the US one only has English but the EU version has a myriad of European languages then they'll be different, sadly.

    PAL Store Update:

    Slim pickings this week, unfortunately.
Uh, that Fuse demo might be good.

Plus there's the sales I posted earlier, there's some good stuff in there.
Ni No Kuni at essentially half price is kinda tempting.

Damn, I thought NA PS+ was a good but EU seems to have some fantastic surprises here and there. I want to pick up Ni No Kuni and ICO/SOTC and some sales on them would be great.

So June is when the longer games for PS+ get swapped out? So will NA's change too? LBP2, Infamous 2 and such?

    R&C All 4 One.

Sony haven't actually confirmed that those games will be swapped out but back when the Instant Game Collection was announced, SCEE said that LBP2, Infamous 2 and Motorstorm Apocalypse would be there for a year, so the assumption is that both divisions will swap them out after E3.

Why would I want to connect my Vita to my TV? It goes both ways, really.

  • UnbreakableVowUnbreakableVow Registered User regular
Well no, I mean, I'm legitimately asking here

If you're asking why I'd want the Vita image on the TV, it's because craning my neck down at the screen can get tiring during long Persona 4 sessions

  • Shady3011Shady3011 Registered User regular
I share my PS3, so it would be nice if they would allow the same on the Vita. Honestly, this is something that can be solved at software level. I understand the lack of HDMI out as it would have added to the cost of the Vita.

I got PSN+ on US and EU. I payed for both. I can and do use both accounts to download games on my PS3, without any hitches, without needing to do anything weird or wrong.

But that's not possible on the Vita for no good reason.

    1. Vita is region free, so while there are some things that you could do with JPN store downloads and purchases, you can stick any game you want into it.
    2. My boyfriend plays videogames too and wanted to use his PSN account that he buys things on my PS3 with on my Vita. I don't know this might be a unique situation with just the two of us, but maybe other people might like to do the same.

Seriously? Ever noticed that PSP, PS3 and Vita are region free? Sony don't frown upon importing, Nintendo do.

HDMI out does seem like a kinda pointless addition to me. It's not like you'd be able to use a controller, so you'd have to hold the Vita with a long cord going all the way to your TV.

I'll save Mogs the trouble and post this weeks US Drop:
Metro: Last Light (Also on PS3 Blu-ray)
The sequel to 2010’s critically acclaimed cult classic Metro 2033. Experience thrilling combat with an exotic arsenal of hand-made weaponry against deadly foes – both human and mutant – and use stealth to launch attacks under the cover of darkness.

Explore the post-apocalyptic world of the Moscow Metro, one of the most immersive, atmospheric game worlds ever created. Next generation technology boasting stunning lighting and physics sets a new graphical benchmark on both console and PC

    Dust 514 (PSN Exclusive)

It’s not only set in the EVE universe, it’s actually connected to EVE. The Dust battlefields will determine who controls territory within EVE’s world. The EVE Online players will have to contract players of Dust to go in and destabilize territory.

Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery (PSN Exclusive / PS Vita)
Jacob isn’t one to mix with other kids, he prefers the great outdoors and the company of his parents, so spending his summer with a load of weird kids at Summer Camp isn’t exactly his idea of fun, However, when he stumbles upon the mysterious Bigfoot, his summer takes on a whole new twist. Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery is an episodic adventure brimming with weird and wonderful characters and a host of brain teasing puzzles.

Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny (PS3)
Aden and Sonja, two lifelong friends, live a tranquil life on Fenith Island until they’re struck by a mysterious curse: they awaken to find both of their souls are now trapped in the same body! On top of this unusual calamity, the Fenith they knew is gone, replaced by a strange island populated with unfamiliar faces. Only by exploring this new world will they be able to solve the mystery of this curse and save their beloved Island.

During the course of their journey, Aden and Sonja will be aided by a colorful cast of characters, as well as take command of the towering golem Ymir. Using their newfound giant friend, they’ll cross vast seas, discover hidden islands and dungeons packed with riches, and battle fearsome monsters of the deep!

    Star Wars Pinball (PS3/PS Vita)
Star Wars Pinball is a collection of tables developed with authentic Star Wars moments. Each table features a different iconic moment from the Star Wars universe, with interactive 3D characters, and unique gameplay.

Adding even more features to the Star Wars Pinball experience, this stand-alone version allows you to choose to support the Galactic Empire or the Rebel Alliance with your high scores as the Star Wars Pinball community fights for the Balance of the Force! An experience point progression system lets players move up the ranks based on Galactic Empire or Rebel Alliance support. Star Wars Pinball contains the first three tables — Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars — and additional tables can be purchased and added in as they are released. For those who already own the Star Wars Pinball add-on set for Zen Pinball 2, you can re-download the stand-alone version at no extra cost and enjoy these exciting new features that will have you flipping that steel ball for the fate of the galaxy!

    Tiny Token Empires (PS3)
Tiny Token Empire is an turn-based strategy game. The player plays one of the five major ancient empires: Rome, Greece, Egypt, Persia, or Carthage. By developing cities and armies, and annexing new territories, the player gradually expands his power over the world! But Tiny Token Empires is also a “casual” strategy game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It contains a crazy comical universe: goofball gods, super cute mythological monsters, clown legionnaires, and much more.

    Manhunt (PlayStation 2 Classic)
A violent action game from Rockstar, Manhunt is the story of James Earl Cash, a man previously thought dead who wakes up in a town filled with deadly gangs. Guided only by the whispers of a man named “The Director” through his earpiece, Cash must find whatever he can to survive the night.

Players must make strategic choices as to which weapons to use, ranging from silent and stealthy to loud and destructive. Everyday items may be the key to your survival, as plastic bags become instruments of strangulation, and shards of glass your defensive weapons. Escape the nightmare that is Carcer City and maybe you’ll learn the identity of the mysterious “Director”.

Just got the flashing-red-light-of-death on my two year-old Japanese import PS3 slim. Everything about that sentence is problematic, presently. US tech support won't deal with it, US repair shops won't deal with it. Waiting to hear from Sony Japan (emailed them this morning). Luckily had some stuff backed up on PS+, but not in the past month or two, and I really hope that I don't have to buy a new PS3 at full price/that repairs to Japan aren't basically full-console-price. Was just getting ready to start Tomb Raider and keep playing through Ni No Kuni! Turns on for a second or two, turns right off. Managed to get my Ni No Kuni disc out of the drive, at least. So much I wanted to play this summer!
