Thank you for this dude. As I was watching this, Kyle kept pointing at me and mouthing 'you' and it's really true .... I need to re-evaluate things on a daily basis if I want to change my frame of mind. Could be that's why I get a nagging feeling in the back of my head everytime I read the 'reframing' thread, and keep chickening out on reading within.

someone posted a youtube for a whole movie from the point of view of a person using an apple computer to communicate with various people. would someone who knows what I'm talking about mind sharing the link? I'm probably being stupid, but I can't seem to find it.
Edit: Removed youtube link. Apparently this video contains a dong.
Search for Noah and short film to find it on youtube.

If you like the This is Water speech
I highly recommend David Foster Wallace's books and audiobooks.
He was incredibly witty and fun to read. He has a book about Infinity (the mathematical kind) called Everything and More which will make reading a book all about serious math feel like reading a lighthearted comedy.
He had crippling depression and took his own life and it is heartbreaking.

it is always amazing to see people's eyes being opened to the reality of life. every being on earth is engaged in it's own ferocious struggle, it's own brutal, clawing, grasping, gasping test. we are all capable of being perfect beings of radiant love and purity and kindness, every one of us, from the most violent and brutal dictator to the lonely cynic wallowing in despair over a world seemingly gone mad. kindness returns kindness, and hatred reflects only itself. all it takes to open yourself to the beauty and peace of loving kindness is something you already possess, and have possessed since birth, and that is the sense of empathy, of placing oneself in another's perspective and sharing their struggle and their pain, and the kindness that you will feel for another person and the sympathy you have for their plight will be automatic.

I basically have the opposite default state from the one mentioned in the This Is Water video. I'm the one in everyone else's way, wasting everyone else's time. My time doesn't matter, it's not like i'd use it for anything important after all.

I've been there. Ultimately you'll find that that's not true, especially if you go out of your way to help other people and listen when folks give you compliments. I help people with their computers and smartphones both on the job and off and that's enough to remind me that I'm good at something and other people appreciate me.
Also it isn't a crime to notice some of the humans out there who are complete self-centered shitheads and remind yourself that you are not them. You have more worth than you give yourself credit for.
Not much of a fan of Postmodern Jukebox. It feels like they're trying way too hard. And does that guy realise that wearing a flatcap and holding a can of Guinness doesn't actually make you Irish?

Maybe if he holds the can in a more awkward fashion so as to clearly show the logo it'll change your mind.

Mean girls. Did you know the guy that played Kevin Gnapoor is now a calligrapher?

Hey guys, I just uploaded a thing. It's light on the tech, but I'll be going deeper in the next couple of weeks. It's a graphical and pipeline improvement from my last video.

I'd like it if you added a little more general detail on some of your content. like in the differences of the VM and modules. I'm what most people would consider "savvy" but from a coder's prospective I'm pretty uneducated. So if you were to say, for a pretty good example when talking about the battle3d VM, how it's stack based. It was important of enough a detail to mention, but not really to explain for the less coding/os programming inclined? Maybe doing small videos that allow you to go off on tangents about specific things like what a stack based module would be, as opposed to what it could be and why it is chosen for certain situations? I know personally I'd be interested in learning more about the programming basics as well.
I feel like that paragraph was poorly put together.

This looks ridiculous and awful, in the best way.
I must have it.

imagining how shitty other people's lives might be
has never made me feel any better.
Its like...
"Yeah,
I'm being jabbed in the eye with a sharp stick,
but at least the total stranger standing next to me is too."
I do the exact thing the subject in the video did; my thought process is an automated 'people are in my way, people are making my life difficult'.

He's always been rather self-centered, though since having kids and having to learn to think beyond himself, I think he could benefit from this video.
This is making the wait for GTA Online even harder. I love that Gavin running around in circles actually worked.

It's like Michael is the protagonist of a natural disaster movie, and Gavin's the natural disaster.
Ahahahaha.
Nature is cruel.
