Unusual IPs restricted.

So as I was flying from NY to NC, I decided to pay for Gogo internet access, and whenever I tried to post, the IP check you perform restricted me because the reported IP address had too many characters for either your validation or the table field itself.

Is there any way to increase the IP address field to handle what I assume was probably an IPv6 address?

I understand this is incredibly low priority, but it was kind of frustrating.
