Animation is hard.
Trying something new, bravo.
But yeah, you suck.
Mainly because your writing focuses around T & A and never gets beyond that. Menage A 3 at the very least has some complex emotional issues (Yuki) that inspires deep thought.
Animation is not only hard, the writing has to be re-purposed for it. It does not follow the same rhythm as a comic strip. That's why whenever comic strips are remade into animation, so often they are so awkward and bland.
And we're not talking especially good writing here in the first place.
Oh hey @maritzac ! Have all of the signed books and things gone out from the kickstarter? I ask because I haven't gotten mine yet, and was worried it may have gotten lost in the mail.

God dammit Great Big Sea is a good band (not the best songwriters, I prefer their takes on traditional songs), why would they agree to let their music be used for that
Not, not all. Most of the hardcovers haven't gone out. And NONE of the sketched softcovers. The thing is that Bachan has to send me the stuff from Mexico City, but he has not. So I have sent out everything I can, but still waiting on those.
But they will be sent, I can assure you that. Plus, I'm emailing people as they are sent away so they know when to expect their stuff.
maybe it sounded like i was poopooing webcomics, i don't want it to come off that way
i used to be obsessed with animation myself. a lot of people get into comics (and especially webcomics) because they like cartoons. Spongebob was actually a big reason I wanted to do Whomp!. But while cartoons translate very well to comics, the translation from comics (most notably chatty comics) to cartoons is far more difficult, and if you don't have a proper production company slapping your cartoon in the butt with wads of budget money, it's going to be a whole lot harder.
But that's neither a condemnation of the transition nor an attempted dissuasion from trying. I just don't want to see web cartoonists hedge their bets on something like this and losing it all (unless it's Sohmer). Of course, that then endorses playing it safe over taking risks, so maybe that is also unfair.

Adding a few zooms and some text transitions do not make it a cartoon, nor does adding audio.
DOn't get me wrong, the HiImDaisy comic dub is the best thing, but it's not really animation.
The point was they didn't have to repurpose the writing and the pacing stays good - it's not the actual animation process (made of small frame changes) that would affect that aspect

So are those things were you draw stuff in the bottom corner of a textbook and flip through the pages to make it look like a cat is walking

(I'm not saying LICD isn't a special kind of bad, but also, in addition to that, it's also bad for other reasons)

Ah, sorry you're right, I meant all this crap Blind Ferret cranks out, which is probably Blind Ferret's fault more than anything

That's not entirely fair, I did enjoy what has been released of the Achewood cartoon.

FUND IT!
So, has Blind Ferret just fully committed themselves to producing animation for the worst mainstream comics in existence, or what?
That's not animation.
