I... do not, personally.
I feel like if his style gets any looser, the stylus is gonna fly right out of his hand (like a Wiimote without a strap) and pith some poor bystander right in the forehead.
IMO, it looks... well, sloppy and rushed. Does he have a really heavy workload these days with other projects, or is this just how it's going to be?
The writing doesn't even feel like a PA comic. I know they've done family stuff before, but it's always had a different tone (with sometimes no joke at all.) This one is just a really flat joke that would be at home in a newspaper daily.

I've noticed this trend began right around the time he drew the weed comic. Coincidence? you decide.
"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible." - T.E. Lawrence
Agreed, both art and writing seem off today. Kara's new look makes her seem younger, but I'm not sure that's a good thing in this case. Gabe also looks really loose in the second two panels.
Looks like one of the strips he drew on the Surface; they tend toward being simpler colors and more cartoony-looking.
Compare it to Monday's comic - that art is just astounding.
Oh that's a good point actually - does the Surface have any sort of Photoshop type app (app? software? man I don't know) for it? I wonder if it just doesn't have some of the effects and layering styles that the traditional software does. Or maybe I'm just wrong and/or full of shit and this was all just completely his choice. I still like the art though.
I'm curious about how different software has to be when it is on a mobile device. A different UI is one thing.
Ironically considering Gabe's love of his Surface, the way the comics drawn with it look is making me unjustifiably hate the device, which I have no first-hand experience with at all.

Noticed the same thing about Kara's age. She seems both younger and older at the same time, although more of the former in panel one and the latter in panel three. Kind of strange. Overall not one of their better strips. The joke isn't terrible but the execution is mediocre and the art just doesn't do it for me. Then again they've had so many home runs over the last few months I'm willing to overlook this one.

He has a Surface Pro which runs regular Windows. Photoshop had issues with pressure support so he was using Sketchbook (pad?) Pro*, not sure if he still is.
* I have this on my nook. Not sure how different the desktop version is since the mobile UI makes it a bitch to explore the extent of the mobile features.
Yeah. This one falls pretty flat, especially considering how good the last few strips have been.

When you are drawing a representation of your wife. Is this one of those things where you have her check into it before you kick it out. "I need you to draw me prettier than that."
I'm repeatedly bothered by the newspost and the strip going up separately. The post doesn't often relay the amount of context or commentary on the strip as I'd have liked, but the package deal is mostly an improvement. Jerry's post is largely mundane, but nice.
The strip is really bland. About Kara, though. I liked her previous depictions more, true, but given how Gabe looks in the comic, there's simply no sense in making Kara look as close to her real-life counterpart as possible, so it's probably not a bad idea to make her look more like Gabe's wife than Mike's (what's with her weird sideburn, though?).
I wonder if she really has a Mario Star necklace, in much the way I wonder if there's really a Pac-Man watch.
No one tell me if this is something that's actually known. I don't want to know. The magic is there.
It's Shrodengers watch, currently it is in a state of Quantum Superposition, both existing and not existing, whereas a google search can collapse the waveform.

I heard a laugh track in my mind after the third panel
Kind of a lazy comic, but considering we're going to be getting a Dust run while they're in Aus., I figure that will make up the difference, and then some.

Not to mention they already made it 13 years ago:

Agreed, but I'm not sure how they'd make that funny or at least informative, like they did with the Jeff Gerstmann thing

Gabe never changes his clothes.
