Do I need a memory card?
Most likely, yes. Even if you avoid the PSN entirely, there are still some retail games that will require a memory card to save progress.
What's PS Mobile?
It's a new service Sony have launched to target the cheap app space on certain Android devices and the Vita. Both games and non-game apps will be available, so it opens a window to some very interesting things. Right now it's only available in Japan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Australia but it's expected to expand soon.
Are all PSP, PS1 and Minis games on the PSN backwards compatible?
No, currently there are a number of games you can only download through a PS3 and others that don't work at all. The games known to NOT work are listed below and it's important to point out that compatibility varies depending on the region. Some games may work in one region but not in another for instance. How do I switch accounts?
This video explains how to switch them. One thing to note though, is that you don't actually need to take your memory card out of the Vita when you do this. If you leave it in there, it will ask if you want to format the memory card as well and you can select not to.
How do I get into the in-game options in PS1/PSP games?
Simply press down on the screen while in game and the menu will show up, letting you play with a few settings. The in-game menu lets you remap controls, add a bilinear filter to help eliminate aliasing, increase disc speed (to decrease load times) in PS1 games and more.
How do I take screenshots in-game?
Simply press the Start and PS button at the same time. Some games disable this feature, though, so if it's not working, that's probably the reason.
What do I do if my Vita has frozen?
Here's a handy little guide to help you out.
It's what Sony has labelled their 'buy one, get the other free' PS3/Vita game promotion. It works just as intended, though so far only for PSN games. You buy the game and get both the PS3, Vita and PS4 versions of it (if available).
Similar to this, there are also some games that have Cross-Buy DLC.
What are the current Cross-Buy games?
Here's the list:
Big Sky Infinity
Dragon Fantasy Book I
Dragon Fantasy Book II
Jak & Daxter HD Collection (PSN only)
Lone Survivor: Director's Cut
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (PS3 version only)
Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault/Q-Force (PS3 version only)
Retro City Rampage
Sly: Thieves in Time (PS3 version only)
Stealth Inc. - A Clone in the Dark
Thomas Was Alone
When Vikings Attack
Zombie Tycoon II: Brainhov's Revenge
Frozen Synapse Tactics
Games with Cross-Buy DLC are:
Dead or Alive 5/5 Plus
LittleBigPlanet 1/2/Vita (costumes)
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
Street Fighter X Tekken
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
When Vikings Attack
Wipeout 2048 (free Wipeout HD and Fury DLC if you own their PS3 equivalents)
Zen Pinball 2
How do I play local/ad-hoc multiplayer PSP games online?
This will require a PS3. On the PS Store there's an app called Ad-hoc Party, which will let you connect to it and play with others that are using Ad-hoc Party. One problem with this app though, is that they're region locked. So people using the US version of the app can only play with others that are using the US version. Luckily it isn't region locked, so European users can create a US account, download it, log back into their normal account and use it to play with people in the US. So to reduce confusion, I suggest everyone here use the US version, as most of us seem to be based there.
Where are my Vita saves stored?
You know the little bubbles on the main screen? Yeah, DO NOT DELETE THEM! While some retail games save your progress straight to the game card, there are a number (including Uncharted GA) that don't. They, alongside downloadable games, save to the memory card and are represented by the bubbles. So deleting them, will actually delete your save as well. If you're running out of space, back your save up to the PS+ Cloud Storage or the game itself to your PC/PS3/Mac and then delete it. Patches and installs will be backed up as well, so you when you put them back on your Vita, you won't need to download/install them all over again.
What's PlayStation Plus?
PS+ is Sony's online service. It provides a couple of very useful features: PS+ cloud storage and auto-update. The cloud storage allows you to upload all your game saves to it and then re-download them at will. While auto-update automatically checks for game patches/firmware updates and downloads them, uploads saves to the cloud storage and syncs your trophies.
The biggest part of PS+, however, is the PS Store content. Alongside additional discounts on games, Sony have a selection of games available to download. These games can be played so long as you're subscribed to PS+ and since the expiration date is saved in the registry, you don't need to be connected online. And if your subscription expires and you eventually re-subscribe, you'll be able to play the games from your first subscription again. You don't need to keep them downloaded, they'll be in your download list. Sony swaps games in/out of the selection each month, so it's worth keeping an eye on.

That putt was silly! It circled the hole for 2 days...
Also, Dragon's Crown!!! My body is ready Is it bad that I think i just might buy both versions at the same time?
Allforce / AllforcePSN / GMT-5 (EST)
Is Cloudberry Kingdom happening? The official site didn't list a Vita version when I checked a couple weeks ago
I'd really like Runner 2 to make the jump
Also, it is impossible to "S" rank the boss stage in sector 1 of Stealth Inc >=[
I can do it under the time limit with no deaths, but i cant seem to do it without getting spotted 4 times...
Cloudberry Kingdom is coming, just later in the year. The developers originally said it would be cross-buy but now I'm really not sure, what with the delay and Ubisoft publishing it.
Runner 2's coming to the Vita, it was just one of a few indie games I overlooked in the OP:
Also just added you and Allforce to the PSN list.
Sombody produces a link to an article about said game coming to those consoles...
I don't suppose we'll see FTL on any of these devices in the near future? Hmmm? 8->
Awesome news about Runner 2, I honestly don't even mind it not being cross-buy
Seriously, though. Muramasa is so beautiful and smooth. It plays like a dream come true. I'm not very far in, and I already love it.
This is my PSN ID— Radthanael
This is a great and profound truth. Look ye upon Muramasa, and know its glory.
>.< Mark of the Ninja needs to happen. Playing Stealth Bastard has only solidified this belief.
And Shank 2, that'd be awesome.
I really hope it's not delayed...
Also, Hot Shots? Turn-based challenge is the best idea, so glad they added that in
(And I got the birdie on your par, GET ON MY LEVEL)
Which is a neat title, but reeks a little bit of broken English
Everybody's Golf is the real name of the series, SCEA just decided to go with Hot Shots Golf way back when the first one came out on the PS1 and they've been stuck with it ever since.
That - makes all the difference apparently.
Also on a topic from the previous thread, I am glad I didn't watch Giantbomb Endurance run of Persona 4 after completing the secret laboratory in Golden so much now.
Edit: Also in Persona 4 Golden am I screwed on getting all social links? I tried to advance my social link with Ai (or whatever her name is) and Yukiko (who is in fact, my in game girlfriend) came over and basically was all "Bitch, what are you doing with my boyfriend?" and chased her off. Can I no longer get all social links maxed by getting a girlfriend too early?
I want the Zeboyd games on here, but I think @RainbowDespair said in the past it won't happen. Wonder if that's changed with the current indie game drive?
(And tags don't work when you edit a post!)
If ever there were titles to double dip on, it'd be them! ;D
RD has said enough in the past to make me think Vita versions of their next game (Cosmic Star Heroine) are a lock (with PS3 and/or PS4 versions). Then I guess they might look at their other idea afterwards (a bundle containing BoDVII and CStW remakes, as well as sequels to both games).

I want to know more PA people on Twitter.
Dulon / Dulor / GMT+1
Is there a reason to other then for portability? Aren't they both exactly the same?
Mainly portability. I could bring the Vita to work with me and play some during lunch. My evenings usually follow the same pattern of playing something on PS3 till around 9 or 10, and then relaxing on the couch with Adult Swim on the TV and playing something on Vita or 3DS. This way, when I'm ready to kick back I can still play Dragon's Crown!
Beltaine / Beltaine-77 / GMT-5
Completed the Amateur Rank Tournaments in HSG last night. I went all nine holes with Poncho dead even, and I finally caught a break on the last one to go 1up.
The difficulty curve on this game is madness!

You can hit a 200+ yard chip-in for an eagle or sink a rediculously long putt, and the elation you feel is tremendous. Then you can tee off on a par 3 and have a hole-in-one look all but certain, only to have the ball hit the pin(?) and bounce back just on the edge of the hole... and your heart stops... and you just wanna die.
just say i crap a lot and i need something to do while i'm dropping the kids off at the pool
why do you feel the need to lie to me
I wont sully my Vita with poo particles.
Isn't it kinda silly to buy gravity rush since it's more or less always free on ps+?
At least in the states.
Let's not let a page go by with me bitching that it still isn't available in Europe...
