Directly following the events of SlateGray, DarkRED is set within The City - the only stable society within the rolling white mists of the Haze, watched over by the mysterious and ancient HEX tower. Players take on the roll of any character they can imagine, banding together into teams to vie for control of the city, go on missions, or explore the ever-shifting reality beyond the city walls. Be a criminal. Be a hero. Be whatever you'd like. In DarkRED the adventure is up to YOU! Accepting Players: Yes! Creating a Character: Rules for Character Creation can be found in the Documentation. Character Statline can be found below.
Ricky takes cover from any still-standing hexcommandoes. "Hey," he calls out. "Anyone got any idea what we're supposed to do or where we're supposed to go?" It'd be real nice if You could give us a hint. Or maybe Ricky's just not paying enough attention...
Haeckel pops off the panel with minimal fuss and finds a mess. The circuitry in the panel has spread and grown over the eons, what was supposed to be a self fixing mechanism turning the guts of the elevator controls into a garden of cybernetic lichen. The grex could probably figure out which parts to pare down, but it'll take some chewing, or some help from their companions (42).
Ksrkkr peers into the darkness. He sees a long, large shape drift around a support beam. Very large. Very pointing itself towards him.
Elias finds a terminal, but it doesn't want to let him in. He could probably crack it with a little more effort. (73/70)
Sabin finds the area around the lift to be pretty smooth. It almost looks like whoever designed this place made sure there is nothing to escape to. However, the lift itself is built at a friendly angle. It might be possible to slide down the sides with a minimal amount of injury.
That colored parenthetical stiff in the haeckel's action denotes the amount and type of points you need to feed me before I let you do the stuff you want. also, you can use your points in conjunction with another characters to accomplish things. also also don't be afraid to aid each others actions even if you aren't dropping points. every bit helps!
[83%/90%-30%] Acer X gets a lot of information about puddles. Notable puddles throughout the City, depth and diameter information, composition statistics, physics and logistics reports, bird interest, reflectivity, estimated time of evaporation, and many other fascinating and entirely not useless data.
[88%/90%] +1 Samedi slinks from shadow to shadow, making it all the way to the two large pillars on either side of the temple entrance.
Unfortunately, I can't manifest a projection to answer Ricky's question, but if I could it'd probably suggest that he consider the metaphorical significance of the buildings when looking for the Tower's reactor.
Penny skates further into the station, and the commandos follow. Four of them rush through the door, the two in the lead dropping to a knee to get out of their comrades' line of fire. [27%/45%|50%] Bullets bounce wildly around the room, and would've done a number to Penny, had she not thought to duck behind the pillar at the room's center -3
Ziggy reminds Kain of somebody. Can't exactly say who, though.... Real familiar. It's on the tip of his tongue.
Anyway.
"Hey Ziggy. Good to see your ugly self is still in one piece at least."
"We," he motions towards the rest of the group, "are in something of a predicament."
"Ya see, we're on a mission by the big, red guy upstairs to replace the heart," the special agent taps on his chest, "of this place."
"Stabilise things, you know. Problem is, we ain't got a map," He shrugs.
"Any help you could give would be appreciated. Percy'd appreciate it, lug is worried about you. I'd rather things don't get bloody and we hafta put you down. Would be a real shame, that."
[80%/70%] Ziggy growls at Kain, the claws on his right hand extend slightly. "...heart."
[22%/30%] There are currently 70 listings for Bird Monsters within the City. Available data includes feeding habits, physical measurements and capabilities, last known interactions. There are also several error notifications timestamped to just before the Pause.
"Easy now, bub. Ain't here to make any trouble, we're here to fix things, not break things. You wanna break things? You're only gonna make things worse."
Kain throws his cigarette on the ground and stamps it out, followed by immediately lighting up again. "I don't exactly expect you to understand, but this black-white monochrome thing going on? That's bad. We wanna make things good again. Wanna make things have colour again. That shouldn't be too difficult for you to wrap your damn head around. We're asking if you wanna make things good again."
"Buuuuub." Ziggy draws the word out, as if testing its stability. "Smoke." The claws on his left hand retract into his fingers and he holds out his hand.
The machines on his waist chirp, whistle, and spark, the dome on his head replying in kind.

Kain cracks a wry smile. "Here you go, big guy. Ain't no cigar, but I'm just a poor, freelance special agent. Whatcha gonna do?"
Ziggy hesitantly puts the cigarette between his lips. One of the larger devices on his hip beeps loudly and begins to hum. An instant later, lights flare across the domed helmet, panels twitching across its surface. "...heart," he mumbles again. "Heart."
Ziggy takes off across the pasture, dives through the door back into the Chinese restaurant and disappears through the door to the kitchen.
That failed attack on Acer. Slaughtering the HEXcommandos. It's just....it's just all so straight forward! Ugh. Such pedestrian uses of his Talents. Where's the needless and infuriating straying from the narrative? Where's incredibly silly and obtuse solutions to obviously set-up problems? Where are the SCHEMES, damnit. It's time for funnin'. Here in this tower of Meta, Merrick And Dean can read this incredibly nuanced and complicated thought on Samedi's face as easily as one would read darkRED words off a computer screen.
Without asking permission he does a magic thing. Something he'd been wondering about for a while. There are hushed magic words.
Some Latin. Some French. Also maybe some Elvish in there. Some mangled bullshit about shadows and lies and cloaks and spirits. In his accent it's all very mythic and magic sounding as long you don't actually know what he's saying. Words are wind, man.
Samedi, Merrick and Dean's indiviual shadows crawl up on their bodies. They are covered in darkness and then with a snap of Samedi's Fingers they are not. Also, they are all totally DarkRED somehow!?! The shadows absorb all the light reflecting of them except the DarkRED. Why? Because Brother Samedi came to a decision that that is how light works today, and reality had better catch up and get with the damn program.
 Samedi strolls over in an over dramatic saunter, Soul Stick held aloft.
"Ey ey, We be 'igh priests of the 'is Most HEXcellent. We 'ere to deal witha alla your temple problems. What? Didn't know you was 'avin Temple problems? Certainly won't hold it against you, I will. Here's a whole cluster of applied rules questions, possibly repeating stuff said in the original post (I queried about a link to it, so clearly you'll have to suffer these consequences : P)
- If you are giving points to an action, is that also your action for the round? Figure it would be with the focus on cooperation and such.
- How much does a point boost a % roll (ie: in Elias's terminal access).
- Does meeting the point requirement give you a dice roll to succeed on the action, or auto-success?
- If the former, can you donate more than the required point amount to boost the roll further?
