[PATV] Monday, September 2, 2013 - CheckPoint Season 3, Ep. 12: Ubisoft and Invidia Sittin’ in a Tre
Even though gift a game to an Aussie day is well past. I would like to thank JohnnyWhiteBread for being a standup guy and gifting this beleaguered Aussie a bunch of cool stuff!
Also thanks to Checkpoint for being awesome!
+1 on the bit about FFXIV. I've never been in a 400+ long queue to get into a server before...only to be ejected from the queue itself because reasons. It's like waiting in line at the DMV, except this DMV tells you "I know we just gave you that ticket for the line, but forget it just come back later ok?"
It appears that there is 16 seconds of black after the end of the video.
from 3:58 to 4:14
anyone know why this is?
(the rest of the video played fine for me, and none of the video was missing, so not a significant issue, just odd.)
Anyone else have this "problem"?
Black screen for the last 16 seconds, tried on Chrome and IE. If someone has seen what it was can you describe it in detail and provide a transcript? Thanks!
I get the joke they are making, but it is worth noting that Star Citizen's hangar release was not supposed to be the entire game. It has a long development cycle, and because it is entirely crowd funded the devs wanted to make periodic releases to show progress. Walking around your hangar is particularly important to those who contributed, because we invested in the game by buying early access to ships in the game.
The console market is such a shitty thing to be providing hardware for. You sell the same chip for 6 years at minimum profit to a tiny market(relative to PC and mobile). Meaning, you have to keep that damn production line busy for half a decade when it could have been used to produce ten times as many chips for other consumer products.
It really only makes sense if you're a failing chip manufacturer like AMD.

I love even the screenshot from this vid. The...story card? Is that what it's called? Anyway, the story card combined with Kathleen's expression is the best/worst combination of "Not now", "Not impressed" and "I'll believe it when I see it."

Or, you can get *really* good at that making that chip, streamline production, let economies of scale kick it, and make some sweet cash. Evidently both Sony and MS thought they would be around for a while. You don't make a muti-billion dollar production agreement with a failing comapny.

Also with regards to the whales? OH SNAP!
Also thanks to Checkpoint for being awesome!
But... but... but... I need my Monday Afternoon Checkpoint!

Kathleen's face just sells the hell out of it- so exasperated by this bullshit.

I'd never have guessed... I wonder who it is...
(røde Mic is Danish for red mic)
