I am way too excited for PAX when it's still 7 months out, and almost as excited for the 15+ hour train ride there. Pretty much adds two more days of total geekfest going there and back
I couldn't find a way via my native wp8 twitter app, I logged into the webclient to set it up since i had to fix my mobile notification settings anyway.
My family and friends don't see an issue here, my sisters started planning since 2013 ended and its not like me and my friends aren't already planning for gencon 2014...some of these things just need a long lead up in order to make it happen.
Heck my group had a TeamSpeak meeting last night to actually wrap up our planning and we just await tickets/hotels opening registration.
It can't hurt to get an early start!
I have never been to any PAX before, or any Con. Bringing a GenCon vet with me though. Thanks to these forums, instead of planning for two days, I am going for all three. Hope to meet you there!

My first ever con as well. Quite an involved process to get anywhere from home so was usually too costly to go. Bringing my daughter as a birthday gift (her sister gets to go to NYC)!

My booking for Seaport had no code. But I opted for a reservation with full cancellation rather than the cheaper advance pay rate. I will check the hotel on OnPeak when it opens and hope to get lucky.

After registration (if it's like last year), threads will appear for community pre-events on Thursday like the dinner, pub crawl, and tabletop gatherings. Just a heads-up; you might want to consider aiming for four days and starting on Thursday. (Last year's city tour even had some Wednesday activities, iirc.)
We'll be driving up Thursday morning, so I might have some time Thursday afternoon and evening. Thanks for the tip!

I wonder if more badges will be on sale this year as opposed to last year. I'm not sure what the maximum BCEC occupancy is.
The reason given for Prime stretching to four days, while East stayed at three, was that East had room to grow within the existing time period, but Prime did not. So, presumably, there will be more badges available for East this year.
Also those seaport rates are INSANE! without the PAX discount.
Thanks for the reminder about Twitter guys, this is the only time of year I use it haha! I just set up my notifications too! ^_^
If you have an iPhone you just hit the icon that looks like a little portrait (you must be following the page first) and then it will prompt you to "turn on notifications"
