I'll tell you what is not weak to fire. The giant ass golem I ran into with a Sorc main character and one of my pawns as a Mage. That took me FOREVER. My archer and fighter didn't do the worst job at killing most of the discs, albeit kind of slowly, but once the dude got down to low HP with only the disc left on top of his head, I had to climb him, unequip my staff and punch him in the dome until he died, because unarmed punches apparently do more damage to him than my staff attacks even.
Golems are about the only enemy I really don't like just because they are completely immune to anything magic. Half the classes can't do anything to them without doing as you said and punching them to death. Every other enemy there's at least something each class can do to take them down.
And then with that in mind, fuck metal golems especially. Where if you're not one of three classes you can't beat it at all. At least not without taking half an hour waiting for one of your archer pawns to shoot at the thing, or waiting for it to get in the right position for you to jump off its head and hit the disc with a melee weapon.

Bolide takes out golem discs.
What? Don't look at me like that. It's not MY fault you never bothered to cast the giant rock on the golem.
Mages can jump on it and whack it with their staff normal styles.
Knights can whack it with their hammer normal styles.
Magic Archers can hundred kisses it. They have nothing to complain about.
Now....metal golems. Yeah. They are a real bad design. The last disc shouldn't be so far above the golems head.

Three? Strider, Ranger, Sorcerer, Mystic Knight of Tír na nÓg, uh, Assassin. I guess Magick Archer has about as much trouble as Mage? Fighter and Warrior can be screwed.
I can't confirm but I think a MA can pull the discs down with the vortex arrow. Problem are the discs that are stuck.

MA, Mage, Knight, Fighter, Warrior. All of them can't hit the last disc of the golem without climbing up to it. Sorceror can cast bolide and hope it hits, but that's an iffier prospect because the bolide would rather hit the golem itself. So add him in there too.
Now warrior gets a big ass sword, so its actually entirely possible to draw the golem under the thing, climb up it, leap up and whack it (for good damage too). So can knight and fighter. MA can as well. In fact with double jump and the multi hit air combo they can get a decent amount of damage.
Mage? Kind of possible. In practice not really. The swipe doesn't have enough range.
Sorceror? Both their "melee" attacks are magic. They would have to take off their staff. I don't even know if its possible to hit the thing with a fist attack.

I think I knew that bolide worked on golems, the problem is none of the pawns I run with ever cast it on them even if they have it. It's always lots of combustion, frazil, levin and the occasional maelstrom just to make sure I can't see a damn thing while i'm fighting.
I sure as hell am never playing a Mage or Sorcerer again, so it's just me climbing all over hitting the discs while my fighter main pawn swipes uselessly at the legs.
Both forms of golem are pretty rare though, so it's only an occasional inconvenience.
Mystic Knight is doable, I can tell from experience, but it's an obnoxious pain in the ass. Great Cannon works for hitting the discs, but trying to get the projectiles to hit what you want it to is hellish, as no sooner than you can cast GC than the Golem bounds up and gets right next to it, ensuring it will never, ever hit anything else.
In other news, my Mystic Knight is just about geared. Thankfully I just picked up a pair of Hellfire Greaves with a bonus to carry weight (thank christ) so finally his arms and legs match.
He's wearing:
Persecutor's Mask
Cursed King's Belt
Chainmail Bracers (abs :winky:)
Hellfire Gauntlets
Leg Clothing (whatever, I'll have to see how the debilitation resistances shake out)
Hellfire Greaves
Blasphemer's Cloak
I'm really digging the look. An unexpected bonus is that the knockdown bonuses combo extremely well with Abyssal Anguish, and he can go toe-to-toe in a physical fight with Elder Ogres, Living Armors, and Eliminators.
Only thing I still need is the Tormentor's Mask, which will pair nicer with the other stuff.
Unfortunately I'm convinced it's the rarest item in the game at this point. I've seen it on neither of my characters, and I've burned through dozens of BBI level 2 armors.
.....Just mused on the ending of the game after multiple repeats.
So, if I got this right.
This is a infinitely turning, cyclic, multiverse that has souless, lifeless beings with no will, that will die and come back in their own infinite cylce. The Pawns will slowly gain emotion by serving their master, and at some point will look like their Master. Also the universe requires this constant cycle to continue, or all of reality bleeds through, which is show through the true Everfall, which is in reality multiple Everfall chambers from across the multiverse. And it's implied that in New Game+, the Cycle reboots time, but because the Sensecahl is outside the Cycle, the Sensechal is from another persons/game universe.
And that's just the main game. Is Bitter Black Isle even more confusing?
... This is more confusing than Bioshock Infinite.
Actually, I don't think NG+ is a time loop per se, but rather an alternate reality that happens to be identical to the one you just beat the game in. Though what the Seneschal does and how important he might be to making sure everything works the way it's suppose to kinda makes you wonder what's going to happen considering the game ends when you kill yourself, with no Seneschal to replace you.
Quantum Chromodynamics allows for both interpretations to be true, whether subjectively or objectively, is up to the player...
Daimon is a little more simple.
Ashe refused to meet the challenge of his Dragon (he refused to follow the will God) and got himself cursed (becoming the devil of his own private hell).
It's a bitter tale.
More specifically:
When faced with the fact that he either had to a) kill the Dragon, who was the last Arisen, and the woman he looked up to as a mother or b) sacrifice his lover, who was the last Arisen's main pawn, Ashe basically went "fuck this shit," and the dragon, taking it as his wish, killed the pawn and made him into a monster the might have been capable of doing more or less exactly what you did...
...or maybe facing him somehow gave you the strength to do so...

The only weird thing about this I find is:
When you confront the Dragon yourself, he says something along the lines of "If you wanted to live, you could have just ran and hid under a rock.". Which kind of implies that "Fuck this shit" is a valid response, which makes me wonder why he got the extreme short end of the stick. Unless he was the first person to ever pick this option, I guess.
"The sausage of Green Earth explodes with flavor like the cannon of culinary delight."
My main pawn and I are quite the pair when it comes to silly looking headgear.
They are both by far the best pieces of head armor I have available so i'm not going to use anything else, but the giant horn coming out of the Mistletoe Circlet looks absurd and the Immortal's Helm is ridiculously massive. She almost looks like a bobblehead with it on.

I think the problem is that...
The dragon was saying you could have just not gone to confront him. Daimon DID go to confront the dragon, learned of what his choices would have to be, and THEN said "Fuck this shit, I'm out!" when he was already past the point of no return.

Having thought about it a little bit, I also realized that the Dragon tends to pick strong willed Arisen as well. He picks you because you were crazy enough to attack him, and actually hurt him (well, the equivalent of a splinter at least). To actually go that far, and then give up, that would probably royally piss anybody off, if anything for being a colossal waste of time.

Seriously, I think this game needs a spoiler thread for all the talk about how this universe works. Seriously, more confusing than Bioshock Infinite in some ways.
Odd. I thought I had all four masks, but now Siegfried isn't there.
I'm not sure what I was doing, but questmarker says harpies, and Griffin's Bane is in my pocket, so I suppose I was upgrading that.
Edit: That's strange. Why haven't I put a Portcrystal near the Greatwall? I must have forgotten to bring one with me whenever I was there.
And judging by this harpyfighting, I might need a new PS3, in time.

Funny you should mention Risen. You can abuse Levitation in DD in much the same way as in Risen, was the game that came to mind as soon as I got the ability.
(Shame than Risen 2 was terrible on consoles, never patched in the ability to dodge roll that PC users got, and even then)...
They didn't? Wow.
I heard a third game was in development but I wonder what happened.
Risen 3 showed up on Steamdb and then there was also a short comment about returning to roots in some German magazine. I enjoyed Risen 2 for what it was, but they managed to mess up the combat almost as bad as Gothic 3.
I kind of want to Platinum Dragon's Dogma but I just always feel more like starting over than playing NG+. I like the overworld parts a lot, and they get a bit pointless when you one-shot most things even with rusted weapons.

I finally beat the guys in the well! I was level 14 and it was still hard as hell. Lots of running around and "cheaping" the enemies. Gear has been slow to come by. I've only got usable gear from buying it. Does that change? I then got mugged by about a 1,000 brigands looking for my cousin and two wizards juggled and then killed me! Oh well, atleast I'm getting better about Saving, so I don't lose too much progress when I die!
If you're talking about the well in the first town or whatever, I think those dudes are lizards, and thus they're only hard until you cut their tails off. They seem to take no damage, then you cut their tail off and they just explode. I did that quest right away at the beginning of the game and I don't remember it being hard at all, so you might have been missing to cut their tails off?
As for gear, most of my gear upgrades as I've played through(on my first playthrough, nearing the post-game) have come from buying them from the shop in the capital, but also I've gotten some sweet stuff out of chests. The first time I beat a Griffin and a Chimera, there were chests near both of them that had Griffin armor and Chimera armor and stuff in them.

I didn't realize that till there were two left! I didn't realize that the ones running around like crazy and dying quickly were the guys who had their tails cut off! I figured that out on the last two though, and you were right, they did get WAY easier after that. I should have known, cause one of my Pawns was yelling to cut their tails off, I need to pay more attention to them!
Bandits are assholes in this game, and the ones down past the pass West of Cassardis are about as bad as they come.
If you have PA people on your friends list there's no shame in hiring a higher level pawn for free from them for a little while if you're having trouble. It'll lessen your xp somewhat but it's better than getting frustrated.

While the pawns can definitely be too chatty, they are often helpful. Every time I encountered a new enemy type they were yelling helpful things. "Attack the weapon arm of the Cyclops," then you hit the arm and he drops his giant club. "Knock the armor off his head," and you do so and he takes more damage. Stuff like that, and yeah, they tell you to go for the tails of the lizard guys.
I've gotten into BBI now and I found some chests and got the Void Key. I got a bunch of Lv.1 gear/trinkets and a Lv.3 Trinket but it was all mostly useless stuff. I shall delve into it deeper tonight!
I like to send pawns back with silly gifts. Usually like a rotten scrag of beast or a cedar branch. But I will always give higher stars for good appearances and ones that the AI makes not do stupid stuff all the time, even though that doesn't really have anything to do with the owner.
I usually gift periapts until I hit Everfall, at which point I usually gift wakestones. Once I've made it through Bitterblack, it's usually extra Daimon materials or cursed stuff I don't need.
Edit: God, do I appreciate the RC infusion though. I've been having to make little runs specifically to gather RC because I can't even afford to rarefy and purify everything. Neither of my pawns has been picking up a lot of hires lately.

It's possible your pawn actually died in their world. If they die, then it's just a default 3 stars and some randomly generated lame item.

The games' kinda dead right now. Hard to get hired and find good hires. If you ever need pawns and you're on 360 you can friend me (TheRocketCan). I have a 100-something sorcerer pawn with pretty good BBI gear (W3 archstaff and L3 bolide and the lightning aura spell).
