The bosses were pretty lame and there's a big part of the game that felt tacked-on to me.
But the rest of it was pretty dang good IMO. I really liked the Riddler challenges, the combat system was a bit silly at times, but still rather fun and the voicework was fan-fucking-tastic.
Play City now.
It is a way better game but keeps the good parts of Asylum and builds on them. With more area to explore and way better Riddler stuff.
these days i just tell people to skip asylum. get right to the good stuff.

I liked Asylum but I think it is mostly because it was a hell of a trip when I first played it. Like a great B:TAS episode but more adult even. Of course it basically was between the voice acting and writing.

i made a chicken soup for dinner
chicken stock, vegetable broth, celery, carrots, yukon gold potatos, parsley, salt, pepper, a rotisserie chicken skinned and shredded, pureed fire roasted italian tomatos and fire roasted green chiles. also wrapped the chicken carcass in cheesecloth and plopped it in the soup
there's a reason Pixar et al have settled on this look. Like the cartoon animals of old, it's relatively easy to use to express emotions given extant technology. Widespread photorealism will not be with us for a while.
once this animation technology devolves to the masses, inventive animations will become more widely produced, and consumed by a generation coming of age at that time - not elaborate photoshops of a single frame that only took several seconds in a Pixar render farm, but more elaborate productions. Photorealism will still remain beyond the horizon, but there will just be a new set of good-enough anthropomorphization standards.

the best stock recipe I've ever tried doesn't have you peel or chop much
onion skins, celery leaves, unpeeled carrots, it all goes in along with your bones, skin, and what have you. you strain it at the end.
but when you're turning the stock into soup later, yeah that's a fair amount of chopping
yeah. best stock is essentially made from remnants. carrot peels, carrot tops, celery leaves and bases, onion peel, potato peels, parsley stems, chicken carcass skin and fat, beef bones, etc. cook for a while then strain off the stock.
the only problem is that it forces you to kind of cook an extra thing that you're not going to eat with this meal, so it sort of requires planning.

I can't abide by that.
i can't abide by that because OCD.
i could see that since AC is a trilogy but Asylum and City have almost nothing in common with each other, plotwise. City is just a better version of Asylum.

that sounds great, dude. did you use any onion?
it's impossible to source roasted green chiles up here in the NE. i grew up in NM and really really miss them.

This is way past my thought process when it comes to Disney porn.
some people enjoy the purer, non-gamified experience of the original, but idgi. felt pretty boring when it first came out, hasn't really aged well since.

AssCreed 1 is a great game if you are willing to pace yourself.
I absolutely adore the crusade setting, Altair was a very interesting character for a videogame lead (not generic white guy), and the controls, while rough around the edges, made for a more visceral and challenging combat. Counter kill/killchaining 17 people in a row was impossible back then, and running from fights was much more important.
It just got repetitive as fuuuuuuccck, which is not an issue if you limit your play sessions to one assassination.

Let's play Mario Kart or something...
Altair was middle eastern in the same way Jesus is middle eastern
that is, not middle eastern at all

So Greek?
Actually funny thing, because of Alexander and his army there are blue eyed blond haired people all the way to the Hindu Kush.
Seriously, thank you Greeks for spreading your genes everywhere.
And the Aryans before them in Northern India.
Yay!
But there is no reason to play it first if asscreed 2 is what you want to play.
