Monster Hunter

So apparently there's this game where you just bludgeon the shit out of monsters until they fall over. Then you pull out your trusty knife and carve pieces of the monster of before it disappears.

Usually though, you'll get stung by a bee and fall over paralyzed just as you start carving.

That said, this is a wonderful game about the circle of life. monsters die, you cut them up and make better weapons to kill bigger monsters. Then you steal their eggs to make an omelet and the circle is complete. Shit wait that's not a circle at all.



Anyway, I've been playing this game and I absolutely love it.

I'm on 3 star quests right now. I've been trying to hunt a royal ludroth in order to...Well shit I have no idea why, I just need to kill one apparently. I've been using the long sword, switch axe, and the hammer. I would use the bow gun once in a while but for the life of me I can't figure out how to change ammo types.

Its primarily a handheld series so its essentially a 3DS exclusive series. The wiiu got tri ultimate because its a wii up port .

It just limps and flies back to it's nest to sleep (Area 7 in the Sandy Plains, 8 in the Deserted Island (I think)).

I love Monster Hunter, it's slot in my DS has been usurped by Pokemon recently but I should probably get back into it at some point.

First go download the extra shop items for the port. Now bomb casings are available for purchase at the second town and your life will be so much easier

Capture is easy. Practice on Great jaggi and learn the monster tells. Limping drooling and long pauses while it attacks are all common. BUT wait until it runs home to capture it. Home for Peco/flying beasts on the island is that cliff you can jump from. Do not let it sleep very long.

thunderbugs and trap kits are the easiest trap material to farm so make a few extra to take in mission

Bring extra tranq bombs too.paint is nice early on.

I reccomend farming the port azurous quest until you get his armor. Its pretty handy until volvidion is available

I think the important thing to realize is that monsters will (almost?) always try to retreat to another zone once they pass the capturable threshold. They will be limping in some manner that you should eventually be able to figure out.

If you haven't seen them leave an area limping, they aren't ready to be captured.

I got a copy of MH game for my psp with a shit ton of others people had said I must play so I paid little attention to the title, |I like monsters after all beast like werewolves before twlight fucked with them, I love the undead and Frankstein, vamps stuff like that.
Then I played it and fuck me there are dinosaurs in the game (frowny face) they scare this grown man a little too much to admit so nope, not for me, not if I want to ever sleep again.

There was like two years between the Japanese and English release of MH Freedom Unite.

But I heard TriU did pretty well sales wise, so maybe we'll get a release at some point...
