A lot of mechanics blur in this game..
I think the taunt helps counter that. If it didn't have taunt, then absolutely. He's an offensive minion, but the taunt ensures that he dies a turn or two after he's played.
My first 12 incoming?

I'm not sure I should really offer advice since I'm only rank 13 at the moment. Seems a bit weird to tell someone who's doing better what to include but here I go anyway.
Ragnoros is probably better than Ysera. They both win you the game if they can stay out but Rags does 8 damage the turn he drops.
If you're running into issues with control, you might want to drop the forked lightnings (which I dislike) and replace them with mana tide totems. A mana tide totem can win you the game if they can't remove it right away and you have plenty of taunts to protect it.
I like loothoarder over flametongue totem but that's more of a personal thing.
If you had a pyro, I think you would win a /lot/ of games, because pyro fills in for a lot of lategame in mage aggro. I think you /really/ want to hold on to some fireballs to end the game; I'd also use mirror entity as lategame if you possibly can.
3 mana wyrms is crazy in that deck, btw.
EDIT: interestingly, you don't actually have /that/ many rares, and no epics or legendaries. 3 knife jugglers, an emperor cobra, a defender of argus, and a blizzard are your only rares (I think cult master is common, right? if not basic?).
I think you ought to drop the faerie dragons for mana tides, or a lightning something + 1 axe for them
I would run Rag if I had it, though Ysera has done some work for me as well. As for the forked lightnings, with all the warrior/hunter rush right now, I'm loath to get rid of them as they have saved my proverbial bacon more times than I can count. Genius idea on the mana tide totems, though. I have no idea how I haven't been using those! Might drop the flametongues for them, but that will require some testing.
4 games total: I had another win with a 2 mana minions or less variation of it. Threw the decks together to bang out dailies (had 40 spells and destroy 40 minions as well). First time playing in casual. Casual is...strange.

Too bad my rewards were kind of crap. 160 gold and two mediocre commons (one gold, not that a golden common is worth much). That's barely more than what I get for fives and sixes. Oh well, at least I got a Cult Master in the pack.
For the first two weeks, I did arena probably 8-10 times. None of my drafts were even halfway decent and I topped out at 5 wins once, with the rest all sub 3.
Then I paid $3 for two packs.
Next draft, the most amazing draft I had ever had. The deck went 6 wins as a result and would have gone more had I not made some bad plays. Draft after that was a Druid one with, again, some amazing cards. That one went 8 wins. Now I draft this:
Its all over the place in terms of minions and removal is kind of weak, but the amount of epics/legendaries I got was ridiculous.
RNGesus is on Blizzard's Payroll.
The amount of bugs in this game is absurd.
if you could only see the drafts i got after buying 40 packs
Yeaaaaah about that...

Defender of Argus helps against rush decks (they are generally too busy hitting you to bother with clearing out minions, so you can often get double buff), but not sure what to do about giant lock.
Not sure if you really need the owl in there, you got 2 earth shocks plus 2 hexes along with the other direct removal. Owl's more for the classes that don't have much good silence or hard removal, and you already have both.
You might be able to remove one of the axes or unbound elementals. At least one mana tide totem is good, its really good if they ignore it, and against other control you can often fish out one of their removal cards to deal with it.
post it
this is the one I'm trying
1. what are you mulliganning for
2. holy shit it filled in two when i hit return i didn't realize the post field did lists automatically
3. would you say you most often lose to big creatures or board wipe
4. have you taken it into casual or just against AI
5. how often do you hold creatures in reserve
3. regular small creatures, murlocs are weaker than generic crap
4. just trying against AI at the moment
5. not generally, but I'm averaging a loss by turn six as it is, I don't know if I should just be ending turn over and over until I have enough mana to summon a bunch of stuff? but by then the board is full of mad bombers knife throwers and crap
