100x100 seems like a lot of the usual patterns for starting one break down.

How about 25-100 Silver coins for Avatars, portraits, sound effects, and themes for the Switch? Let me customize the crap out of my system. You could even include the customizable options with the game and offer them up for coins if you don't want the game.

Come on Nintendo, go ham! It's just jpgs, videos, and mp3s. Stupid easy stuff to put out and make people at least happier with the options they have.

Looking at it after several months, I feel like it's come a long way.

Small things like wallpapers, game coupons, etc. are 100% appropriate for silver coins. They're free, so the rewards are suitably pretty low-key.

Gold coin rewards have stepped up their game recently, too: right now they have a few indie games like Bit.Trip runner, which are old but still something. What they really need is for it to have a featured indie/virtual console download that changes monthly, or other substantial things. Even if you have to buy two or three games to earn it, that's fine! But right now I've got 200 gold coins and very few of the prizes feel like they are worth my while.

Ideally, these would be higher quality than the YouTube uploads from a 30-year old VHS tape that was set to EP on a TV getting its signal through rabbit ears.
