Because people were bitching in the Table Top thread, I bring this here. Lets play some Dawn of War people! Ahhhh, I see you have questions though! Well, let me address them.

Q: What version/expansion are we using?
A: Well, most people will want to be playing Dark Crusade. But if you want to play Vanilla or some thing else just say so. And make sure to always update!

Q: Are we playing online or what?
A: Well, GameSpy is generally a piece of shit, so we use Hamachi. It's a program that fakes LAN connections over the internet. It's small and easy to use and can be picked up at http://www.Hamachi.cc. Just ask what network we will be using.

Q: Do we use Vent?
A: Why yes, we often use Ventrillo to make playing more fun. Check the SE++ vent thread for server info!

    So, I have a version which may not be completely legal. I can however play on a LAN, so would I be able to play with this hamachi deal?

    If all I have is standalone DC, can I play on the lan with races other than Tau and Necron?

    no you have to have DoW for all other races besides IG, for which you need WA

    guys any version of the game can play with any version
    you just can't use the races from non-purchased expansion

    I just ordered DoW gold. Should be arriving about the same time as my comp. Now I'm trying to figure out what other games I need to catch up on. Half-Life 2 is almost a certainty.
