What are some good storylines involving Darkseid? Honestly, I barely know anything about the DCU but from what I've seen already, I would consider Darkseid one of my favorite villains. I know that he is supposedly involved with the upcoming Countdown event. Also, hasn't he been depowered in recent times compared to his former power levels? Also, I remember reading his wiki article and it said that Superman freed him from the Sourcewell because of a debt incurred to an alternate version of Darkseid. Where can I read that story at? Sounds interesting. Thanks

    Also, the Grant Morrison JLA: Rock of Ages story line I think, that was already mentioned. That arc is like 4 awesome stories rolled in to hot sticky sex

    IIRC that was part of a Superman/Batman story arc, but I forget which one.

    Got stuck in the Source Wall in "Superman/Batmn vol2: Supergirl" I think

    "Superman/Batman vol. 4: Vengence" is where he got freed

    I think it was more of Superman getting tricked though.

    Oh hey, Darkseid topic. Totally should've asked here.

    Has anyone read Mister Miracle: Seven Soldiers, and if so can they explain what is up with Darkseid posing as evil Earth businessman Mister Dark Side, and whether it was in-continuity or not? Cuz I can't find any info to clear up that whole crazy-sounding idea.

    And Darkseid was at his finest when he was animated in the DCAU. Even the series finale of JLU.

    Also, to see just how much of a dick Darkseid is, and to see how "oh my god is there really that much New Gods stuff?", get the Jack Kirby's Fourth World Omnibuses.

    Volume 1 comes out May 2nd, while Volume 2 comes out in August

    Seriously, Jack Kirby was the man. The New Gods are one of the best things about comic books, and fuck everyone that says they're lame.

    Walt Simonson's Orion is the greatest cosmic comic by anyone ever. Except Jack himself, but you can't count him or it's cheating. I mean, he made Black Bolt, Doctor Doom, Galactus, and Darkseid. You can't top that unless you're his clone and also made of win.
