When I was a kid my parents took us on road trips to Albuquerque, NM and Santa Rosa, CA. We went to Santa Rosa a handful of times. This means that we stopped at just about any city with a major landmark on the way. I'm not going to list the cities, but it's a lot of fucking cities.

South Korea somewhere - family lived there for two years, don't remember much
Upstate New York - for a year, kinda boring
Various parts of Maryland - my formative years. Lived in assisted housing in Laurel for a few, then moved on up to nice suburbs. Will always be home sweet home.

Have gone on extended vacations/frequent trips to:
New York City - bunch of friends live there
Canada - nice place, super nice people

Japan a few times - aunt has a teeny tiny place in Tokyo, visited her twice. Magical.

All over Turkey- from the wide straits of the Bosphorous, rimmed on every side by the ancient metropolis of Istanbul, to the wild deserts of the Cappadocia region, filled with chimneys of soft stone carved by rain and wind, littered with the hints of a subterranean world of villages and churches used by Christians at the dawn of their faith. I have sat in a Greek amphitheater nearly completely intact- and seen a show there. I have seen the famous dervishes- I have been to the tomb of their founder, Islam's greatest mystic.

And apparently this summer I'm going to France. Looking forward to that.
