[GUH! ON!] Nanaca†Crash!!- Bicycular homicide

What the hell is this?

Nanaca†Crash!! is a free Flash game, the object of which is to smash into some hapless sap with a bicycle and propel him as far as possible. It’s a formula that’s been done many times over, but this is the most fun and in-depth game of this type that I’ve come across.

What the hell is this from?

It’s a fan-made game using characters from some adult dating sim game called Cross†Channel. No, I don’t know anything about the original game. Nanaca†Crash doesn’t have any nudity in it, but it’s NSFW because you aren’t going to get anything else done if you start playing it.

How the hell do I play it?
Start a new game. Click and hold the mouse button to select the angle of launch, then let go to select the power of the launch. Sometimes when he is airborne, the “AERIAL” marking will change colors to red or blue. This means you can perform an Aerial Crash. The blue Crash is angled downward, and recharges while he flies through the air. The red Crash is angled upwards, and you only get three of those. Sometimes the word “SPECIAL” will appear on the screen when you hit another character. When this happens, you have 0.7 seconds to click the mouse and activate that character’s special move. Which brings us to…

The characters

taichi.png
Taichi
Your (flying) character.

nanaca.png
Nanaca
The star of the show, Nanaca can teleport in and boost your character using the AERIAL CRASH.

misato.png
Misato
Normally she will force you to stop. However, if you're able to activate her SPECIAL, it boosts you with the highest power out of all the characters.

touko.png
Touko
When you hit her, she gives you a boost. Low-altitude type. Power is just a little stronger than Kiri.

kiri.png
Kiri
Her normal boost accelerates you at a 45 degree angle.

youko.png
Youko
When you come into contact with her, she initially does nothing, but the next time you hit a female character, she will block whatever normally happens.

miki.png
Miki
When you hit her, she gives you a boost. Launch type. Power is just a little stronger than Kiri.

hiroshi.png
Sakuraba Hiroshi
Hitting him just changes your angle, it doesn't give you a boost or slow you down. (No special.)

tomoki.png
Tomoki
When you hit him, he slows you down. (No special.)

So let me try it already

The game is available to play and download here. I recommend downloading it so that your records get saved. If you just play it in-browser, they'll be lost when you close the window.

This game is highly addictive.
You have been warned.

    Not again! D:

I'm going to stick with my current focus on X3, CS:Source, and the occasional DoW and Wii until this thread blows over. My old record was over 10km, but some people here seem to have been so addicted as to get many times higher.

Youko is such a goddamn cock-block, in this backwards little game of trying to get girls to smack you in the air. Never cancels out the guys, I never can get her special to activate, and overall she fucks me over as to causing maybe 90% of my failures.

This game took way too much of my attention for a weekend and the following week once in college.

Though "Guh!" has become an almost standard exclamation...

    Hmm.
I wonder why nobody ever covers special combos with these Nanaca Crash discussions? Every time i've seen this game brought up and explained, people always seem to leave them out. I'm sure everyone's seen em at least once or twice playing through the game. Guess this didn't necessarily need a spoiler, but there seems to be something awfully taboo about discussing em for some reason. :|

Because I don't want to have to play the game for eight hours straight to remember what each does. (Youko specials are different for each character, and they are hard as hell to get.) :P

I do remember getting one where like 3 girls attacked me at once. Maybe it was four. All I can remember is that it was a reaction that involved Misato

EDIT: Oh shits! my best record is still on my hard drive! 2589.92m

My personal record is a little over 12,000

The trick to obtaining the specials is to use your downward teleport slam. It's the blue one and there's a little meter that lists the percentage, at 100% you can use it, but only while your character is flying upward and is on screen. After being used, it will charge up as long as your character is visible on the screen. Since you can wind up flying off it quite a bit this can be problematic. The red boost is the opposite, propelling you upward, and can be used only when your character is flying downward and is on screen. You only get three of these.

You can see the next three characters that will appear on the little meter on screen, so you can gauge when to use your teleports to either hit a specific character or avoid one.

The way to get the Misato special (best normal boost available) is to hit her after hitting another female character but BEFORE you hit the ground. If you bounce off the ground and into her she'll stop you.

The way to get Touko's special is to hit her twice in a row, it doesn't matter if you hit the ground between the two.

The way to get either Kiri or Miki's special is to hit one right after the other, you can't hit the ground in between.

I haven't yet figured out the special's related to Youko, but I think it has to do with hitting a female character while a male character is the next impact. This specials have strange effects, including doubling your boost power for the next few hits, reversing the slowdown effect caused by the ground, allowing you to store up boost to use next time you hit a stopper, and other strange abilities.

    This game is awesome.

Considering it's a game that is mostly about chance, I felt oddly proud.

How about the highest you've gotten?

I just hit 769m, through a combination of a Youko special, an Angle Up (that fucker), Miki, and a mid-air crash.

Oh no. Every time this thread pops up I play this game for hours. Well so much for Saturday.

And to top it all off, I suck. The OP is pretty awesome though, and thanks Taramoor for your explanation as well. Typically when I've played this game, I've just had at it without thought or strategy. Now I have options!

Kiri and Miki's specials have nothing to do with hitting the ground. They're just automatically active whenever one directly follows the other, assuming you hit the first of the two.

Just got 4669. I can do better.

Edit - 9113. I hate it when you get slowed down and have no boost left, and you just have to sit there and helplessly watch it roll to a stop.

    Final Edit:

You should probably chop that sucker in half before a mod does it for you.

EDIT: Also, my best so far is a paltry 2339.94. :(

EDIT, part deux: What's all this about "Monday morning" and "first contact"? If I shoot him far enough can I advance to Tuesday or something?

Like you said, you can't really try harder, it's all by chance. The only real control you have is at the start, and catching the specials on time.

I think that has to do with the original game's design structure (the H-game that the characters are from)
