Pleased to learn Aretha is still kicking, unpleased to hear that song! Not good, uh-oh! Good thing she has an entire lifetime of amazing music behind her already.

Seems really overproduced. If that makes sense to anyone else.

We will all have to agree strongly to disagree!
"Sandra has a good solid anti-murderer vibe. My skin felt very secure and sufficiently attached to my body when I met her. Also my organs." HAIL SATAN
This might be my favorite track this year. And there's been a lot of good music this year!
I just had a made up 80's comedy montage play in my head while listening to this. Guy chases the girl all over town but she's always leaving just as he arrives. Sometimes she's walking away with her girlfriends. Others she's driving away. Once she was on a jet-ski.
Friday: Capital Cities, a little bit of Bleachers, Chvrches, St. Vincent, Foster the People, Beck
Saturday: @lost salient, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, tUnE-yArDs, Interpol, Iggy Azalea, Broken Bells, Eminem
Sunday: Kongos, Fitz & the Tantrums, attempted to see Phantogram but it was impossible to get close enough to even hear them at that point, The Replacements, Chromeo, Pearl Jam
A pretty damn good weekend.

I'm a few tracks into this new Flying Lotus album and it's pretty rad.
I really love it! Just some great stuff on there.
Also I can't let a new Weezer album go by without listening. Just because they were my favorite band for a ridiculous amount of time. It's usually an exercise in disappointment, but this new one isn't bad!
So the Black Keys were amazing when they were here live a few weeks back. We were so close to the stage!
THIS CLOSE
Cage the Elephant opened for them and despite not really being into their music, they were actually fantastic. And the lead singer was either incredibly happy or so very, very high.
Looks like I missed Chromeo twice this summer and am pretty unimpressed with myself for it, but it seems like they play a lot of hometown Montreal shows so I'll be able to see them someday probably?
I'm looking at a few upcoming shows and Vance Joy is playing a small stage here this month; they have one song I *love* playing on my ukulele, so it might be worth seeing them live after I've checked out their album.
Saw Jimmy Eat World on a whim Friday during the "Futures" tour (completely forgot the gf bought tickets back in June or July), wherein they were, not-so-surprisingly, performing the album "Futures" in honor of it's 10 year anniversary. So...yep. Ten years. Was still pretty fun though, the album seems to hold up pretty well.
edit: hilarious. Found this video the guy standing directly five feet to the right of me was taking at that show ("Polaris," if you're scoring at home, Des Moines 10/10 ).
We saw Of Montreal tonight. It was without a doubt the craziest, most energy filled show I've ever been to. Just absolutely incredible. I'll have some pics in the morning.
We got the new Foo Fighters in at work. I'm sure you've all heard the single that's getting air time.
I got to sit down and listen to the entire thing.
This is definitively and demonstrably not Bob Seger. I know some of y'all love to hate, but you might want to open your ears because you're about to get your face melted.
