The mortar in this city is mixed with the blood of the people who built it and our streets were built over their bones. You can’t understand this place until you’ve walked down every street, stared down every alley, and had some punk try to steal every cent you’ve got on you at least a twelve times. This city will drive you crazy if you let it and we’ve got a whole birdcage full of cuckoos that already have. Two-Face, the Joker, the Mad Hatter, and Poison Ivy are all just the tip of the iceberg. The real crazies are the people who stay here knowing how bad things are. The ones who wake up every morning get their kids ready for school, and ride the subway to their rotten jobs for a paycheck that will barely pay the rent. There are better places but Gotham is their home and that’s why they stay here, and God help me I’m one of them.
What is this?
This is a PL 8 Mutants and Masterminds campaign set in the DC Comics Universe, specifically Gotham City. I’m looking for 3-4 players who can take up the difficult challenge of defending Gotham from the criminal scum and overwhelming corruption that threaten to choke the life out of the once great city. You'll be facing gangs, super villains, assassins, explosions, and cops on the take at every turn so be ready.

Please submit a PL 8 120 Point version of a DC Comic’s character with some tie to Gotham City. I will not be accepting any submissions for original characters for this campaign, sorry. If you’re looking to play Superman, Wonder Woman, or the Flash you are going to have a very hard time playing them to their full potential given the power level of the campaign.
I will be accepting only one Batman, and one Robin.

As Dick got older he started to patrol alone more. Dick is well aware eventually Bruce will ask him to take up the cape and cowl, but isn't sure he is ready. Past events have pushed them apart, now Ben wants to mend those bridges, and when his family is ready he needs to be there.
•Loyal Pupil: Richard Dragon is Ben Turner's teacher, and he owes him his life. Ben will always answer the Kung Fu Master's call, and even though it's unlikely that this call will come since Richard lives on the other side of the world, you never know when he might turn up!
•Wayne Industries Ben's parents worked for this company at the time of the burglary and killing which kicked off Ben's life as it now stands. Without the Wayne Foundation, Ben would never have had the legal aid needed to keep him out of prison, and Ben understands that there will always be a debt of honour due for that good deed.
•Good Man: When it comes down to it, Ben's turmoil is motivated by his sense of injustice at a cruel world which devours families and leaves its victims with no mercy. You've gotta come at it from the angle that there have been like a half-dozen different Batmans. It's like a whole rainbow of them
going from completely goofy in the Adam West show and Brave and the Bold to The Goddamn Batman when Frank Miller's writing him. Sometimes he's introspective, sometimes he's extra-punchy, etc.

I love Jason Blood and Etrigan, I think he'd make a perfect mystic expert/power house for a Gotham game. Personally I love Ragman but no one else ever seems to care about the character.
Agreed, Batman can be a bit intimidating, I think most people feel that way when faced with him. Make him your own if you're gunning for dark knight.
Catwoman is always welcome, I still think she needs a cat-o-nine tails though.
I'd rather avoid Green Arrow as he is pretty well established as a character based out of Star City, however if you wanted to break out Speedy or Red Arrow that'd be fine. Better to avoid the CW universe though so we can all do our own unique thing here.

Motivation: Batgirl was born out of a plot by Two-Face to take over Gotham City. Set up on false charges of accepting bribes from renowned gangster Rupert Thorne, Commissioner Gordon was thrown in jail, and with Batman deep undercover, Barbara decided to take things into her own hands and free her father. Now having been in the business for a few years Barbara has adopted Bruce's mission in trying to stem the endless tide of corruption that washes through Gotham's streets.
Making Deadman shouldn't be that expensive all things considered, although it does offer the interesting challenge of being invisible and unable to communicate without possessing someone. I would suggest the following, but I yield to Arc's mastery of all things mechanical in this. I would give Deadman pretty high scores in his Agility and Dexterity as he is a world class acrobat, and since he's an Olympic level athlete I'd give him moderate Strength and Stamina as well. Boston Brand's got some Charisma and I think his experiences in the afterlife have imparted some Wisdom onto him too.
For skills I'd boost his Acrobatics, Athletics, Close Combat (Unarmed), Deception, Insight, Investigation, Perception, Persuasion, Sleight of Hand, Stealth, and possibly give him an Expertise or two in Magic or Religion depending on how many points I wanted to throw into it.
His powers aren't all that expensive, but here's a breakdown as I see them.
Possession/Affliction 8 [Resisted by Fortitude DC 18] Entranced, Compelled, Controlled [Extras: Concentration]- 16 Points
Comprehend [Spirits] 2 - 4 Points
Flight 5 [Extras: Subtle] -12 Points

Those powers come out to about 68 points so they're slightly more than half of the build total which sounds about right to me. Even though he can't touch things most of the time Boston's skills shouldn't be ignored since he carries them into whatever body he possesses.

The art style of Bruce Timm cemented Batman as one of my favorite characters, it's also a fixture of how I picture Gotham to this day.
So Batman, Batgirl, Nightwing, and possibly Deadman...that's pretty awesome.

As for giving Batman more points I can agree with that because he is a more established character than most of the other heroes in Gotham, my concern is I don't want to make anyone else feel underpowered by comparison. I could see my way to giving destroyah an additional 15-20 points for his build total if no one else objects though.

I'm fine with Batman having a few extra points. I think its more important in a game that everyone feels like they are contributing rather than have equal power levels. That said, it makes sense for the Batman to be more experienced and I don't see 15-20 points swinging things that much.
100 equipment points for vehicles and arsenal is definitely reasonable
