Although, I would consider myself an 'All or nothing' Hardcore collector. Like a lot of my previous collections, if I were unable to collect the full set of pins for any reason, I would almost immediately become disinterested in collecting, its how i've always been for some reason.

So if that happens can I have your DLC pin? Dibs, you say it guys, dibs, right there!
Add me too. I don't care about year variants. Following that thought, if anyone needs 2012 core set pins I'd be willing to trade and I'd just buy a new one...
I find it interesting that there are 300 of these things out there and we can account for 27 of them. Less than 10%. I'm sure at least another 30 are with rabid pin collectors who don't frequent the forums. There may be hundreds of these pins just out there sitting in drawers and boxes or pinned to bags and shirts. Pins belonging to people who can't make it to a PAX and don't realise what they have. Pins that were part of the detritus that comes with backing a kickstarter that the owner has no interest in. What a strange world they live in.

There also may be many who people have them and may not really realize the worth that they have.
Hey Pedro: what would you ever trade for your second DLC pin? Or would you ever? Just curious.
I get this question a lot, and I get offers pretty frequently. Some are just Pins, others are more exotic and a couple are a little bizarre.
Right now, there is nothing that I can think of that I would trade it for. But then, I don't think of All The Things. The Pin Pal part of me wants to keep hold of it for the day I miss a Pin. It's my equivalent of Spider Jerusalem's Journalism Gun: It only holds one bullet, but if you aim it right that is all you need.
The exotic offers you say? Right after I booked PAX East, someone offered me a PAX East. 3 day pass, flights, hotels, all expenses paid. If I had missed out, that would have been pretty tempting. If you have read my posts on Olympic Pins you know that this kind of trade happens a lot there.
No, so far I haven't had an Indecent Proposal from anyone. A lot of people ask about it, and a few joke about being tempted.
Really, I can't say what I will end up trading for. I do want it to go to a good home at some point, so just keep on grabbing other Pins and hope I miss something.
Okay honest question: what would you trade a DLC pin for? I'm not talking money, but or pins, but alternate payments.
What would make your trade your DLC pin? What's the limit?
Right now I cannot think of anything, which I know has to be frustrating for those who want this Pin to complete their collection. But I am in a rare position where I can afford to do pretty much anything I want, if I plan it right. I'm going to PAX Aus, I've just moved into an awesome home, and I have a guy making me swords for my Winter King Samson outfit for PAX Prime. So money or other items don't hold much sway. Really this spare DLC is my "Break Glass In Case of Missed Pins" emergency kit. It's bound to happen at some point, with 4 PAX a year, Pin Editions and seasonal Sets I am going to hit a speed bump. Combine that with the fear that all of this (my job, visa, etc) can go away at any time, and that emergency kit idea looks even better.
This could be a fun hypothetical though, question to everyone not just Pedro, if YOU obtained a SECOND DLC pin, what would you do with it?
For me, I can appreciate pedro's response about it being an emergency trade to get 'that' missing pin if it ever came to it. But, I would also be open to trading to someone, its hard to say who because everybody wants it... But maybe someone that is ONLY missing the dlc pin, I'd be happy to help someone finally complete their collection.

Also, any chance of adding a more permanent registry to the Pinnypals website Manic?
Actually no. Very few staff members have one. Kristin is the only person with a complete collection.
