This is the time of year the Red Wings need Todd Bertuzzi. But, they could be starting the playoffs Thursday against the Flames without the power forward. Bertuzzi, who suffered a concussion last Thursday, missed a second day of practice Tuesday. And coach Mike Babcock didn't sound encouraged.
    That's just fucking fantastic.

    Damn it.

Looks like ANOTHER early playoff exit for the wings...

    Haha.. enjoy Bertuzzi.

We (canucks) definitely won out on that trade. Jovo fucked up all the time defensively and Bertuzzi has gone way down. We get Roberto and still have a solid Defense lineup.

Yeah, I'm sure the Canucks GM had to stop from laughing when Detroit agreed to the trade.

Well.. Florida first, then they traded him to Detroit.

Finally a solid goaltender for Canucks since Kirk back in 94 :)

Well we have Ozzy and Hashek, so we aren't too bad in the goalie department.

It'd be interesting to see how our backup would do (Dany Sabourin), but he's only played like 4 games this year and the Canucks haven't exactly given him a shot in his 2 losses.

Yeah Vancouver has always been pretty solid, they really did just need a solid goalie... I mean seriously... Cloutier? hahaha

Yeah, Florida got reamed in that trade for Bertuzzi.

I'm still optimistic. Hasek is good during the season, and in the past anyway, turns into a god in the playoffs (or any big stage really).

It's time for Pavel to earn his new contract. No disappearing in the playoffs this year, please.

Oh, and we're also without Kronwall for the rest of the season. That really sucks too.

Cloutier was good for the regular season. He was always able to make the hard saves, but let in weak goals all the time and that killed him. Also, the vancouver fans tend to not be very supportive of goalies :P

That Bertuzzi/Luongo trade should probably go down as one of the worst all time trades, I mean seriously the Panthers got what 7 games out of Bertuzzi? And they didn't even get anything good when they traded him to the Wings. Man am I glad I'm not a Panthers fan, I probably would have killed the GM after that trade.

Shawn Matthias could be a solid player.

They also get 2 conditional draft picks from the Wings.

Depending on how Bert plays in the playoffs, they could end up with some decent draft picks out of it.

Not really an amazing deal, but ok.

Still. Pretty horrible that they didn't get more for Luongo.

Well.. they got Jovo who is a good offensive D. Alex Auld was a decent goalie (a step up from Cloutier for sure). And Bryan Allen is a decent player.

Canucks still win out though. Without Roberto, there would be no playoffs (let alone a division win) for the Canucks.

    Well, that's not too bad.

I didn't really know what they got, I was just going off what others said.

Jovo was always good for me on NHL 200x. That has to count for something.

    It was
    Vancouver:
    Bertuzzi
    Allen
    Auld

    Florida:
    Luongo
    Krajicek
    6th round pick

Krajicek has also been a nice addition to the back end.

Was mistaken on Jovo.. he signed (as a free agent AFAIK) to phoenix this year.

Fucking fuck Direct TV. I went to a bar that had the Direct TV NHL ticket dealie with two friends tonight specifically to watch the Wild game.

It wasn't aired. At all. We sat there hoping and praying it was just some delay or something until the bar owner came up to us and told us the Direct TV customer service rep told him that it wasn't being broadcasted in our area because someone had inputed into their database that TNT, TBS and FSN North (Fox Sports North) were all broadcasting it.

    None of them were.

What's more? Fucking TNT? When has TNT ever broadcasted a hockey game? Or TBS for that matter? At least with FSN you have a point, but they were far too busy fellating a Twins game that will have almost no bearing on anything at all to broadcast an NHL playoff game.

    Seriously- Fuck Direct TV.

I wish it was the longest playoff game I've ever watched.

A couple years back I sat though a seven (7!!!) OT junior game.

I'm kind of worried about Cooke, Burrows and Kesler though. I don't think Kesler broke/fractured his hand, seeing how he was still playing, but Cooke and Burrows? Shit, that's our two best agitators.

Yeah, I'm worried about Cooke too.

So tired today.. but the 5.5 hours of Canucks hockey was worth it.

Fuckin Turco has crazy puck playing skills. If it wasn't for him I think the Canucks would have easily beat Dallas in regular time.

Yeah, the shifts got down to about sixteen seconds long in the end.

I enjoyed how the boradcasters were chronicling the two guys that were stacking beer cups behind the players bench.
