@Nogs did you try asking someone their interpretation without telling them the context?

yeah but they thought it was gibberish that didn't make sense.
The reason i was putting possessives and 'is' in there is because i was going off just the audio.
so lets listen to it
"The Letters Keys Just Win"
so Letters could be letter's so possessive or 'is'
same with Keys
now, if we take the audio thing further, maybe two words are actually 1 word or if you slur it just right with the right accent it might be another word
For remembering sake. Also, while not part of the solution, can anyone make sense of the last line of the poem?

A dream that leaves you flat... Possibly a dream that kills you? Two possible senses on that one- classic dream of falling, which you might flatten out Looney Tunes style at the end of; or in the sense of your heart stopping while you sleep- flat lining.
@Straightzi That part of the riddle is part riddle, part trivia that ties into the overall poem solution.

Ah, gotcha.
In that case, "dream" is in reference to the aircraft that dropped the bomb during the Able test of Operation Crossroads, Dave's Dream.
Not quite positive on the rest of it, but I'm feeling pretty ironclad about that.

Assuming that "leave you flat" is in some way a reference to death and destruction, here's a list of ships sunk by Able- Gilliam, Sakawa, Carlisle, Anderson, Lamson.
There were a number of other ships that sustain serious damage, as well. The target ship for the test was actually not sunk- that was the USS Nevada.

That's the key!

For instance: 'Letters' could be 'Let Hers'

Well @Lost Salient may have noticed it as well where she is

Yup, that's your who or your what. You figured out the Atoll (lost in space when written as a toll).

That doesn't convert back nicely
That's KEYS converted into an eight digit number, but it doesn't look like one of those date formats
And more, further back, I guess
Any of those hitting significance for anyone yet?
Able Crossroads was 1946-0701.
Whether that's the correct date, who knows. But everything else seems to tie back to that.
Things in the cube seem to be shifting into place
Gilda?
2 years and 1 month after the project started, the 19th day at 1105, something something bikini atoll?
Crossroads had 3 tests, Able, Baker, and Charlie.
Able was on 1 July, 1946
Baker was on 25 July, 1946
Charlie was cancelled due to the fact that nobody could decontaminate the radiation.

only 26 letters in the alphabet. so maybe it's 2+9=11.
the 11th letter of the alphabet is K.
Or, 1+1= 2, which is the letter B.
And i'm going to bed

Do we have a Krueger situation on our hands here?

Word.
Now all you need to do is to apply when to the letters, largest unit first, and let things shift into place.
S _ G A
46 is the missing letter there, because it doesn't have a correct conversion. Here are the options I've come up with:
(4+6)= S J G A
(46-26)= S T G A
(4+6=10; 1+0)= S A G A
(4*6)= S X G A
The one that makes the most sense to me there is the third one, but that one was really the largest logical leap I had available

@Nogs do you have any ideas? You've been head puzzler here.
