Is taking my arcade stick worth?

DorpoMeatMissileDorpoMeatMissile Registered User new member
So, this will be my first time attending, and I see that there are some fighting game tournaments that have me interested. I'm just not sure if they're more for fun, or if they are a big deal. So, my question is, is it worth it for me to lug my fight stick all the way out there to play? I know this is very subjective, but I'm just curious.

The real question is, how comfortable are you playing with other guys' sticks in front of an audience? Or would you rather just play with your own?

Happily on Sabbatical. Don't bug me.

If you're questioning it, I wouldn't bother. I'm not a huge fighting game player, but if you feel you can only win with what you have, then go for it... if not, then why bother?

If you're accustomed to using it for the particular game, then yes. Especially if it gives you an advantage over the regular controller. And while the atmosphere is fun, it's still a tournament with winners... and not winners! If you do end up playing, GLHF!

You my friend, are amazing. Everyone at work looked at me funny when I just let out a loud HA!

As for the fight stick. I would bring it if you are serious about fighting games. I promise you others will. If you are concerned about packing space, or it getting broke while traveling. There is a Fedex office in the convention center. You could ship the stick to your hotel, then when done with it drop it back off at the Fedex office and ship it back home.

Keep in mind however, that Monday is a holiday and the Fedex office will be closed. So it would be Tuesday before you could ship it back. I know the Sheraton has a thing where you leave the package with them and they will ship it back via fedex. I'd call my hotel if you are going to be leaving before Tuesday and want to take this route.
