I noticed a number of people on the forum are from Aus.
Do you guys ever do a meet up for trading?
I was thinking if not we should do one next year, maybe after Pax South or East (In case any Aussies go and want to bring some back to trade)
Do we have many people here from Melbourne?
How did the PAX AUS Pinny Pals community event go?
Thoughts? Good idea? Worth / not worth the effort?
I'm in Melbourne but I only got into Pins after PaxAus so I didn't meet people for anything pin related (well, except staff). I'm interested, though I'm not sure I have anything worthwhile to trade...
I would love to! I've only got a couple of pins to trade at the moment but I'm planning to go to East so I can probably fit a few sets into my luggage from there.

Seeing as we are in the depths of pinter now, are the Melbourne folk keen to meet up, drink flagons of ale (or the non-alcoholic ale substitute of your choice) and sing songs about the pins of yore?
Oh damn I forgot about this. I don't have much to trade but an evening of alcohol-free merriment (oh the shame of still being on my green P plates) would be fun.
I found the Maccas on Elizabeth Street a solid place. Tram stop just nearby, close to Flinders Station, and they have a huge upstairs area where we can hang for a while and basically not be bothered, because during the day it's usually empty. Toilets right there too. And there's a good variety of food places nearby if you don't want to eat Maccas, I'm a vegetarian myself and I love eating from Lord of the Fries, which is just across the road. Heck, with all the tables and spread out space, we could probably play some board games or something too. Not far from Minotaur either (pop culture store).
That Pub sounds good to me! 8-)
I think we do need to check if everyone is comfortable attending a licensed venue.
I know I support it, but we need to make sure everyone is OK with it.
That pub sounds like a good time. I'm terribly short-sighted with my trading so I rarely have fodder but I'd attend just to see folks and yammer for an evening.
I'm overage but wouldn't be drinking, so I don't mind where we go. The Dickens appears to be super easy to walk to from Flinders Street station, so that's a bonus point.
A weekend date is probably easiest for everyone, but I wouldn't be opposed to a weekday, as I work in the city so I'd just head around to our chosen spot after work. Maybe next month, to allow time for word to get around?
