Mim come on they'll be super gentle and honest with you and point out the things you need most to work on!
i feel like you're trying to lull me into a false sense of security
also, I think I'm afraid they'll give me a critique, I'll try to explain what I was trying to do and then they might perceive it as me being an asshole.
The only way you could honest to god sound like a asshole is if you do the classic "I'm drawing a anime character so I'm not bounded by your human proportion rules maannn." But you won't do that because you're doing it to earnestly get better at something and are asking people that trailblazed that path before you the directions.

i do plan to do comics, but yeah i'm so bound by human anatomy (and animal anatomy eventually) because well..i want them to look real
Man, am I glad to see the other side of this hitch. Cold and ice then getting swarmed with boats trying to make up for lost time. Now with the warm weather everything that sprung leaks in the ice is starting to take water.
Plus side I caved and bought beyond earth. I am surprised by how much I like it.
It's important to keep in mind that you'll build artistic skill over time through experience and experimentation. You can look at a lot of webcomics that have been around for a decade or so and see a massive difference between where they started and where they are now. PVP, Zebra Girl, VGCats, Critical Miss, etc etc etc. have an exceptional amount of contrast between their start point and where they are now.

yeah, I know. I think it just feels sucky knowing you are suckville and other people going "yeaah...you living there pretty well"
sheck once gave me a critique and my heart fell out of my ass

Being able to take criticism and self-criticism with grace is just so absolutely vital.
I know it's really really hard to do - I have close friends who are afraid to even show me their work now because they are terrified of Editor Mode. And I'm not even that harsh.
But pain is weakness leaving the yadda yadda.

I think a non-fixed camera can work well with a tactical RPG. The fixed camera gets to be a bitch in environments not all on one z level (that Gnoll's Fortress which is a copy-paste of one of the famous pueblos for example).
What these games need, and Infinity Engine especially, is clear UI for things like what a character is doing (where they are pathing to, area of effects etc...) and some way to customize what characters do when they don't have a current player-issued order.
Alternatively, you could just stick to one a level. If height isn't going to be an actual tactical factor in combat, then I think that you are better off having an area that is just easier to navigate, with elevations being purely cosmetic. The reason I think you need a fixed camera (or at the least, combat always to take place tactical) is that it is extraordinarily hard to balance the same encounter for KOTOR style 3rd person combat at IE style isometric combat. Better to have the game assume you will always have independent control over the movement of your party members and balance accordingly IMO.

@spacekungfuman did you play the Storm of Zehir expansion for NWN2? It was a standalone in terms of story so you don't need to have played the others. Unlike every other NWN game you make a party of 4 characters and it has some overworld exploration kind of like the original Pool of Radiance. I really like it.
I liked SoZ a lot. Had a blast creating parties (obviously) and loved the idea of all your characters being able to speak in dialog. It was a fun little game that was really overlooked.

Sure. Positive feedback before negative feedback makes it go down more easily.

Three positive to one negative is how we are supposed to do it but I don't know if that is based on something or just made up.

to be fair that movie looks like ridiculous bullshit and it's got nothing to do with Hemsworth being in it :P
Oh, I agree! I don't think it's his fault, I'm just sorry he's had such bad luck branching out. Snow White and the Huntsman wasn't exactly cinema-changing work either.

Cabin in the Woods did okay.
every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

in the picture you have his voidling appearing to go in the correct direction towards whatever he's attacking
instead his voidling should be running off in some random direction to attack a siege minion in a different lane or go take a shit in the jungle or something

It's navel gazing like whoa, but compelling.
Let's play Mario Kart or something...
Yikes.

I been getting mad on the internet again, halp.
How are you Chanus.
I haven't seen the first Mad Max, only the second and third.
Would you agree Caesar and Koba are very similar to Professor X and Magneto?

Hmmm. I don't think so. I mean, I guess the conflict between them has similarities, but they're pretty superficial. I get what you're saying, though.
