Well, I'm just from the school of poke-thought that believes Hyper Beam is the greatest move ever in history. If you have a grass pokemon with a status-ailment type move, two grass-type moves, and then hyper beam, it will be ok even if a fire type comes out. Just knock the fucker out with hyper beam.
It's just my cheap way out of things, usually I prefer strategy, but
when you absolutely, positively gotta kill every last motherfucker in the room - accept no substitues

I just caught an Onyx so now I want a Steelix but I started with Piplup so I already have a Steel type coming and man I probably should've started with Chimchar

I meant the ones in the later games. Frezny Plant, Hydro Cannon, Blast Burn (any others?) are ones that only your starter can learn and they are the same thing as Hyper Beam but with elemental damage.

The elemental hyper beams are pretty great, because you can have those AND hyper beam.
That's practically 20 hyper beams on one pokemon!
