I mean Zurgo, Anafenza, Sidisi, and Surrak are all back (though they did have a good reason for doing so), as well as several characters from the lore articles making returns. Seems fair that Houn would make it in this life!
Hmm...but maybe he is alive, but just hasn't said anything riveting enough to make it onto flavor text? Or maybe he's just some schmoe cleaning up dragon dung somewhere?

No, see he wasn't in khans, which is parallel to dragons. Fate Reforged is 1280 years in the past. Humans don't get to live that long.

Bit odd that that ability went on a black creature, since it's traditionally a red ability and black evasion skews more toward intimidate (probably too powerful). But I guess they wanted to keep the Warrior synergies to black/white, and he's still a Kolaghan card, so whatevs.

We'll see how limited plays out, but I don't think this set looks as fun as Khans. Maybe I need to look deeper, but I don't really see any enemy color archetypes. Khans had the five clans, but you could easily find yourself with a GR ferocious deck of a grindy BU list that splashed for a few morphs, so even having three players be Abzan in draft would be fine, since one might be BWg warriors, another GBw butts, and the third a GWb outlast deck. This set seems like you may need to figure out very quickly which two clans aren't being doubled up on.

I think I just prefer formats like Innistrad, where every color combo has something to do.

The most overt and linear draft archetype is still BW Warriors.

The Skywise Teachings/Elusive Spellfist deck will probably be UR or fully Jeskai, akin to its predecessor Kiln Fiend/Sphinx-Bone Wand.dek.

Seems like there's a BG Butt-Fighters deck, that may also be the place for Deadly Wanderings. Though it also would seem to be heavily dependent on specific rares.

Green has plenty of tools for Five Color Good Stuff.

Mono-Red (and likely Mono-White too) should be an actual thing to fear, rather than a coincidence in either iteration of Khans limited.

Then you have all the intended allied pairings plus shard-arrangments (Grixis Dash + Exploit looks sweet).

Sadly the fixing will be atrocious with only one pack of tap lands. Monuments will be all kinds of precious.

I finished up round 2 with some time left over, so I step outside to grab some air. With about five minutes left in the round, a guy steps out of the shop. As he leaves, he says to tournament organizer, "I'm going to go order food."

"Okay," says the TO, "but be quick because I'm about to start round 3."

"I'm just going to order and then come right back," the guy replies.

I watch the dude walk to his car and get in. About five minutes later he gets out of the car and comes back, positively reeking of weed.

Honestly the first thing I thought of when I saw the spoiler was a tokens deck that just never attacks.

Secure the Wastes, Hordeling Outburst, Dragon Fodder, Raise the Alarm, Impact Tremors, Purphoros, Outpost Siege on Dragons, plus random red/white removal.
