They really aren't. If you hate expensive decks so much just run face hunter, no legendaries and still strong. Especially against control decks with lots of legendaries!

You can run patron warrior without epics or legendaries, just a few adventure wings, and that is one of the sweetest decks around. Can we all agree to make that the go-to choice when suggesting cheap decks, instead of nudging more people down the face hunter hell hole.

Probably not... It's a really fun deck, but isn't the easiest to play for a new player.

So is that Arena tournament happening today?

You can definitely play strong decks without legendaries. If you don't like face hunter, you can play midrange Hunter sans Dr. Boom and still do well. It just requires some rares.

Flamewaker mage does pretty well without legendaries as well.

Speaking of legendaries... I opened a Thalnos today and also had enough dust to craft Rag. I finally have most of the good neutral legendaries and absolutely no class legends.

Opening Thalnos is the best. He's the workhorse of the legendaries: very good but not flashy enough to be crafted early.

You need 4 wings of Naxx, 1 wing of BRM, 4 rares, and you really shouldn't play it without grommash. It's not a cheap deck.

Handlock is a deck built on bullshit, putting out big minions for cheap. And that works without legendaries. The 2-4 it runs can just be more remova/healing/taunt/giants.

Combo Druids bullshit is in the name and you can just replace sylv and boom with sky golem and it works almost as good.

So I think in general epics are a bigger hurdle for newer players because both these decks and others run a ton of epics.

It's the class epics especially that are tough in my experience. Druid is the worst since every decklist uses Force of Nature and Ancient of Lore.

I am weak. I bought BRD.

It seems more challenging than Naxx, though that could have something to do with missing basically all of G&G. It's fun though!

Yeah. The classes are kind of unfair that way.

Want to play a mage deck? Throw together some relatively cheap spells and get some Naxx and Blackrock cards. There you go, legendary quality deck.

Druid though and you need more dust than your average Endless Legend game.

One guy has finished a season at #2 with this deck that doesn't use grommash. 5 wings is an investment I agree, but for a very top deck that's quite cheap!

I remember how happy I was when I could finally play druid, and then when I could finally play control warrior

imo priest and shaman are good places to start w/ cheap decks if you don't wanna go aggressive. not that there's anything wrong with that! face hunter being the other option.

Had an amazing run today with my take on this tempo Mage deck. Streaked from rank 11 to rank 8, going something like 7-2.

I made the following changes: -1 Azure Drake, -1 Echo of Medivh, +1 Dr. Boom, +1 Kezan Mystic.

I don't own two copies of Echo of Medivh and found that the Kezan Mystic can easily just win games against Face Hunter and Freeze Mage. Card draw isn't too bad and I lacked endgame, so I cut the Azure Drake for Dr. Boom.

Naturally, you're opening hand needs to be good (Mana Wyrm, Loot Hoarder, or Mad Scientist) and it really helps to get a Flamewaker by turn 3. Going second is the best because you get the coin for extra Flamewaker hits.

I faced all sorts of deck types from Control/Patron Warriors, Mech Mage (loss), Tempo Mage, Handlock, and Face Hunter. If you can get that Flamewaker combo machine going on turn 5-6, the damage output is insane. Best value is Flamewaker, Sorcerer's Apprentice, Coin, Arcane Missiles, Icebolt, Mirror Image. Depending on what remains, it becomes SICK Echo of Medivh value the following turn.

It's actually really interesting having one card you always want in your opening hand (and I guess Armorsmith vs Hunter). Like, you've got a ~28% chance of seeing at least one by turn 2, or ~36% if you go second? Those are great odds.

when facing a mage with mirror entity down and you have only one minion in hand

    do you have the guts

to drop your rag and snipe the copy?

because I do. and damn that felt niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. maybe not as nice as having an actual solid play that I could deal with but I'll take it! 33% shot, nothing but net.

I just had a game where the enemy warrior played Loatheb but my spells were not affected the next turn as a priest.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I wonder if that was a deathlord summon, which might be why the battlecry didn't trigger.

    1x Illidan
    1x Dr Boom
    1x Troggzor
    1x Jaraxxus
    1x Mal'ganis

It's a bit different and kinda risky at times with no silence/taunt, but pretty fun to play with as long as you dont get face rushed with a bad initial hand.

I'm surprised so many people run voidwalker/flame imp. It's not a zoo deck, your cards need to be high impact. And I never have trouble pulling a demon with voidcaller. This is my deck, maybe I just play it differently than other people?

voidwalker is mostly for the early delay, also is good for dropping after mal'gais comes out for a nice very cheap 3/5 taunter if you have to spend the full 9 mana for him. fire imp is so you can cause yourself damage and buff the floating eyeball, but since im only running one of them, I thought it best to remove it. The last thing you want is for your voidcaller to waste itself summoning an imp or a voidwalker in your hand instead of the beefier demons.

Remember people. Imps are also demons.
If you're running Imp Gang Boss and Imp-losion you can drop your Antique healbots for Sacrificial pacts if you need a better curve.
It also happens to be super-tech in any mirror match (functioning as a hard-kill vs demons, especially jaraxxus).

I don't have enough warlock cards to run a very good warlock deck, but my winrate went up drasticly since I made the switch (daily missions...yeah).
