What: A gathering of area Pinny enthusists outside of PAX.
Who: Any Pinny Pal who lives close enough or is willing to drop everything and fly across the country at a moments notice if the word "Pinny" is involved.
Why: To have fun and hang out.
When: TBD I am thinking in the April May June window.
Where: TBD Below are a few places I thought of off the top of my head along with some pros/cons. If you have a better idea or want to agree with one posted please do so!
Funspot
What: The world's largest arcade. Has tons of classic video games, a decent number of classic pinball games, an indoor mini golf course and more. These are the guys who did the PAX East arcade for every year except this one.
Pros: Great selection of games, fun for all ages. Reasonable prices on both tokens and prizes. Located in the Lake Winnipesaukee area so there is tons to do outside the venue. Offers free "party areas" so we can meet up and trade easily.
Cons: Location. Unless you live right near it you will have a drive. A pretty drive, but a drive.
Pinball Wizard
What: A classic arcade filled with pinball games. Has a good selection of classic games.
Pros: Pizza place next door has a very good reputation (I have never eaten there personally).
Cons: Not as much to do outside the venue (at least that I know of). Chrage for use party rooms.
Salisbury Beach
What: A beach. Several arcades and junky food. Sand and water.
Pros: Centrally located, lots and lots to do.
Cons: No free bathrooms (seriously), no safe place to trade pins. Tourists. Parking can be pricey.
Hampton Beach
What: see above, located slightly North.
Pros: Free bathrooms.
Cons: See above but add tons more tourists
The White Mountains
What: Mountains. Trails. Tourist traps.
Pros: Pretty, tons of tourist things to do.
Cons: Location. Even if you live in the mountains you probably live no where near where will meet up. Bugs and dirt. No Wifi or 4G.
Hilltop Fun Center:
What: A family arcade. Go Karts, Mini Golf. Lazer Tag arena. Casino style arcade games.
Pros: Price, they have some really good packages available. Pretty easy to get to. Awesome Lazer Tag arena.
Cons: No classic games, all ticket redemption. No outside food allowed. Prizes are expensive.

Out of these, Pinball Wizard is my favorite (95% of the reason is because it's the closest). Also, the pizza place Supa's next door (owned by the same one in Lowell!) is great.
Funspot is great, but that's a whole day trip between going up/back for me.
There's also Funworld in Nashua, I haven't been there for a while but the arcade was pretty solid iirc.

Yep yep! I'll be getting in Saturday night and staying through Tuesday evening so I'm down to hang somewhere in there.
Where exactly in New England is everyone?
@rentfn @pureval what are your thoughts since you both vanished from the thread?

GASP - you're so close to me!
I'm willing to drive a bit. I'm flexible. I hope I'm around whatever date gets picked and not on travel for work.
Looking for Edith Finch Pin!
Anywho, the pinball place sounds like a lot of fun if you guys want to do something inside in the afternoon/evening.
Another option is if anyone can/wants to haul out to Carlisle (MA) for an SCA Archery practice on Sunday (10am to 1pm) that's also available - $2 for the whole afternoon, plus he does instruction which is really nice - but I'd need to know ahead of time so we don't surprise the guy that runs it!

Always looking to trade.
* Assuming we do the afternoon, I'm still hoping to go to Archery practice, so anyone who wants to join in that as well is welcome to. Just let me know!

For the record, the layout of the arcade is pretty much just lines of arcade games throughout the building, and it's a pretty decent size, and they have a pretty large list of games on their site. There's a good amount of pinball, fighting games, classic arcade, etc. And we can relive the Omegathon and play some Pac-Man Battle Royale!
I'll plan to bring some tradeable pins too for shits and giggles, idk if we'll actually have time for it but why not.
