Yeah, I really hope that as well. I really enjoyed the books, but since I'm not a big fan of TV or movies in general, I don't plan to start watching GoT. The main problem is that the show usually gets a lot of media exposure, so someone will surely try to spoil it.
The whole way the TV series has done the Maggy the Frog Prophecy has put me off the tv series a bit. Pretty sure I remember Cersei mentioning the screams of Melara from the well she dumped her in, in an earlier season but Melara wasn't even there for the prophecy, and there was no mention of the Valonqar (little brother) choking the life out of her (which I think is a big part of why she hates Tyrion so much)
I can't talk about it with people who didn't read the books, because I'll spoil them, and I can't talk about it with people who did read the books, because their complaints are insufferable to read; the slightest deviation from the books' dialog is always some massive travesty or whatever.
And now the show's plotting is going completely off the rails at (shocker!) the same point where the books' plotting went off the rails. Ah well, it had a good run.
You don't need to read the book to be a spoiler troll. You only have to go to Wikipedia, read the plot summary, and there you go, you are 'in the know'.
The idea that book readers are spoiling everything is nonsense anyway. People who take the time to read those huge books are usually passionate about the story and wouldn't ruin it for someone else.

Book fans more spoilery? No.
Insufferably smug because they can read? You be the judge.
Just because it's not real doesn't mean it doesn't matter. Sure it may matter less than 'real' things, but stories are an important part of being human.

It's not a big deal not a big deal. Pobody's nerfect.
It does however mean another donation to Child's Play and a chance for Gabe to gloat.
What do you mean by that?
Whenever a "Tychpo" slips through and ends up in the published comic, Tycho gives some money to ChildsPlay.
And frequently Gabe will give him some grief over Twitter or something.

When Jerry lets a typo slip into the comic, he donates to Child's Play as penance. Mike gloating I think is self-explanatory.
Although... I would think Mike is the one arranging the text, and this looks rather like an error made when the text was rearranged inside the speech bubble. So this one may really be on Mike.
Okay, I didn't know about that. That's funny how it works that way. But the difference in response to "mistakes" is probably because you can't "mess" up art especially since style varies and what works and doesn't is subjective while grammar is set in stone.
Edit: If Mike made the mistake does that mean he needs to donate?
Not having read or watched GoT, I can only assume that "ending at the same place" means everyone dying. That would make it easier to tie the stories back together, regardless of what point they're at by then. Unless the show turns someone into a vampire. That could complicate things.

considering a certain plot line (at least from the books), the vampire thing is not too far off...
Long answer: In an effort to stay current on what the kids are on about these days, i read the first four books of GoT. Then watched the series. I feel like I gave it a decent try, but the show and book are both a few bright moments of drama interspersed by hours of bland acting, terrible writing, and plot lines without any believable motivation in most of them. I know I'm in the minority, but I just don't think Martin is much of a writer; he reuses so many of the same devices to try to generate plot interests in the books it's hard to know where the lame writing of the show starts and the lame writing of the books ends. Its great to kill off characters in which you develop reader interest in order to generate a sense of true danger, but when you do it this often, you'd hope that the remaining characters would at least become more three dimensional from the contrast. Sadly this is not true, and the remaining characters are still two-dimensional, unbelievable cartoons. Martin's writing is right up there with Jordan's Wheel of Time series on the stink-o-meter. I gave up after 4 books and 4 seasons. Fool me 4 times, shame on you, fool me, well, something like that.
Short answer: there is rape in a medieval setting? Oh my. How shocking. Again. Yawn.
Wait, has Game of Thrones already used up all the written material? That's hilarious. I want to see some DBZ-esque filler material.
Reportedly Martin has completed and given them the basic outline of the series.
So what comic Tycho is saying is not really true. That said, the show runners have no real problem cutting or changing things to suit their needs/preferences.
I can assure you all this error was in the script I got and I simply cut and pasted it as is. I catch some of his fuck ups but not all of them. Yes I make him donate when one gets into the comic. I joke that I let them in on purpose but I actually do try and catch them if I can.

I'm sorry I think the most hilarious part of this is how you refer to it as a "fuck up." Just that terminology with regards to it is funny to me.
I enjoy the books, but I don't have the means to watch the tv show. I suppose I could be buying the season sets or watching it on whatever online option HBO has available, but I haven't done it yet.
But hey, I didn't watch "Lost" until it was completely over, and I didn't read the Harry Potter books until they had all been published. I'm ok with being late to the party with most things.

Part of the reason for the changes is because they have to pay actors and keep them in their contracts. Without spoiling anything, it was clear from even the trailers they were going to change some shit because why pay a dude for a bit part when you have a guy you need, but would be behind the scenes? Or important characters that don't have much going on, you need to have some filler for them.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Even though I'm a fan of fantasy I have a hard time getting into any series that's been around a long time and has a ton of books to read or episodes to watch. Unless I get into it within the first few books or seasons I end up feeling like there's SO much to get through. That and everyone else has been into it for so long that the stuff I've fallen in love with will be old hat to everyone else.
I guess this is why I've gotten so into MLP:FiM. It hasn't been around that long and it doesn't take that long to watch every episode. Plus the brony fandom is a lot like the furry fandom so It feels more my kind of thing. It doesn't hurt my best friend loves it just as much as I do. I think the biggest reason is because I've been a Trek fan since the early 80's and both the furry and brony fandoms (and MLP) have a very 'Trekker/Trek' feel to them.
I mean Discord is voiced by Q for crying out loud. Kinda feel like i've been spoiled as far as fandoms go.

Yeah, I had the same with Dragonlance. I read the original trilogy, and then realized that there is no way I'm going to read the rest of them, since there is probably a good hundred novels written in this setting.

And now that you have that image in your head, I have done my duty and shall leave.
Pins!
Besides, it reminds me of Tycho's familiarity with wearing sunglasses at night.
I hate this system because it lacks symmetry. Jerry messes up and it costs him money. Mike does whatever and pays nothing.

*gaffes. Definitely not an english teacher here, just a random portuguese guy. I wish I could say I didn't enjoy doing this. But I did, I really did.

That's all.
For me it's Chronicles, Twins, and the Tales novellas.
Hahaha! Wow. You guys proved my point.
I actually was not aware of the difference. Thanks for pointing it out.
