However, when you z awaken any character, they gain some resistance to their weakness so it only does neutral damage, and they gain additional resistance to their strength, while gaining additional advantages to their strength and gaining a slight advantage to the next one down the line
so let's say I have an AGL char
they star off getting owned by TEQ and owning STR
when I z-awaken them, they stop getting owned by TEQ, SUPER own str, do increased damage to their own type and pick up a slight damage boost to PHY
my colorblindness fucks me over with this game, it's puzzle fighter all over again.

What the hell does 'awakening' a character do, exactly?

So awakening uses awakening medals and depending on the rarity they can take two-five different types of medals. Lets say you have a dude who requires three types of medals, if you use 1 or 2 types their stats will get better and they get stars in the lower right of their protrait depicting how many times they have been awakened. If you have them at max level and later use that third type of awakening medal (or do all of them at once) it will Z-Awaken and their rarity will go up one, max level will go up by 20 and they'll get a big star on their portrait, they'll also become super or extreme of their ki type, and more powerful as Hullis said.
And I think the difference between Extreme and Super depends on...when you awaken them? If they're max level or not? I'm honestly not sure.

I am still unclear on how exactly you get a super move to activate, like what the minimum requirements are. Does your Chi reset after each round? What, exactly, is the effect of getting orbs in the first place?

I'm not sure I could tell you the requirements for their super as they say everybody has different ones, but the bar on their character sheet doesn't really mean anything to me.
Ki does reset after each round, and getting the orbs raises your attack power so even if you don't get a super you still do more damage. You get 1 Ki for an orb not of your color and 2 for one of your color. You also burst orbs of your color on the same row for 1 Ki.
I think pretty much if you get like 5 Ki orbs of your color you're pretty much gonna get a super.

it depends on the character! some characters have a higher orb requirement for their supers. It's why kid goku is so good, in addition to being strong he has a very, VERY low orb requirement for his super, you can either get like 5 blues or 7-8 of another color, not counting rainbows

Do rainbow spheres count as 'your color' if you are using them to link other orbs of your color?
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
they provide a ki bonus but it's not as big, a chain of 3 rainbows and 2 blues will grant less ki than 5 blues

Ok, how does getting Ki before a match work? Sometimes I land on the 'power up' spots and it acts like it is raising the power level of my character, but I have no idea how that translates into the battles.

it seems to add a "baseline" ki to the specific character that shows up. in the next battle, that character will already have whatever ki was added on the map screen.
i'm not sure if that carries over into the next battle, but i think it does not...

Lol. He has like 1 billion hp and even with items does 12000 against type. You could burn Dragon stones but I don't think it'd be worth it. And my count as low as is.

Are there any relatively easy ways to make Zeni in this game, because I have three SRs I can promote except for the fact that I'm like 1.1 million short.
How do I get prepared for Z-hard? I have a team made up of most SR and a few R characters, all max level, and I'm trying to grind for Awakening medals, but things on hard still kick my ass
Yeah well I've done 2 50 stone multi summons, and whoo boy fuck this game. It gave me 5 of the fat R dude from Bardock's team the first time. 5. And then I got SR Goku And the SR Saiyn lady, but like man I want a Piccolo or any SSR

Lots of tiddy in that one
But also I didn't find it as engaging mechanically
I found building your team and the actions you take to have far more impact on the outcome once you get past the beginner levels.
But, uh, yeah, the tiddy thing is true.
Steam Switch FC: 2799-7909-4852
the team building layer had some depth! but the actual ''soccer'' bit was a little boring
But it is a fucking slog to get there.
Dokkan Battle is def better at the beginning though.

but ultimately i've got dokkan battle, lovelive, and record keeper to suck up all my time now so...
see ya, soccer spirits
