Arkham City was still very much a Metroid inspired game. It was just more of a Metroid Prime style layout than the more linear ones.
It was a Batman Zelda game right down to having dungeons that you go into to get an item.
What no? Metroid prime was as well laid out as any metroid level. The upgrades led you to short cuts and being able to access more areas. In this case, asylum is similar to metroid prime (and the rest of the metroid games)
This was zelda where you just got the upgrade to access the next dungeon.
I tried really hard not to think about how much time in Just Cause 2 I spent destroying the infrastructure of poor villages. It's a pretty messed up game.

I either need a ton of customization, or some sort of multiplayer

I'm probably gonna play it here and there for a good 6 months before I finish it
It's not like I'm gonna be super driven to see what happens in the story
