Hello fellow pinions! Great news! After some brainstorming, experimenting and nachos, we are 99.9% certain we have found a solution to the pages of the pin bags that steal eyeballs and souls! More details soon as we finalize exchange/replacement plans for anyone experiencing issues!

I'd like to hear details before PAX AUS if possible, so I can use my pinbag there without the fear of destroying pins.
I'd just use some grease paper between the pages for now. I'm guessing if they're talking exchange/replacements (whatever that might mean) the earliest we could get something would be at PAX AUS.
Merchmistress mentions a solution to the pages, so I'm hoping that we can use the existing bags and that exchanges/replacement refers primarily to damaged pins.
I used my bought-at-PAX-Prime bag at PAX Prime to carry my pins and had no problems. I did open it up for the last few weeks to air it out, but all of my pins look fine. ymmv, just be careful, etc.
Heads up- I traded my bag with Brian (head of merch) for one of his hand treated ones. I left my pins in the bag after Melbourne since I was told it was safe. I opened my pin bag today and the eyes are bleeding with the new treated bag!
I'll post the pict soon once I get all my pins out of this bag. *sad panda*
Current count is 6, 5 heads and 1 pin where the gold is gone and it looks like chemical corrosion happened.
Now I have to figure out how to house my trading pins. I loved the Pin Case, now time to come up with something else. At least I saw great alternatives at Pax this year.
I wouldn't trust it, I was told that friction and pressure caused the eyes to go. I had an untreated bag, and caught it smearing one of the staff pins only a day after I put it in the bag. I did air it out for weeks.
I'll add another factor, heat. I think the pins got warm and some of the eyes are quickly painted on, so they came off real easy.
For those who aired theirs out, have you had any melted eyeballs?
Yes I did. And to repeat what luckycharm has said, Brian stated it was the material on the bag plus friction and that airing it out didn't really help.
Is it the neoprene or the vinyl that causes the problem, I'm wondering if pins through the the vinyl with the faces facing the neoprene might work better
I had my bag airing since I got it all the way to PAX Aus and I felt comfortable using it at PAX Aus, which I did most successfully with no damage. There was a lot of walking, heat, rubbing etc.
So I thought I was sitting pretty....until today when I was browsing my pins and noticed my Baby Tycho has gone blind! I'm not really sure what to think about the bag now, it seemed safe and cured but apparently not? Or even with a cured/degassed bag, the material can still cause issues?

Just to double check, this is a replacement bag? Or the original one bought online?
Brian stated that there is nothing that can be done to fix the original ones.

It's an original. I never saw that statement, all I heard was "if you were having a problem, exchange" and I wasn't, so I didn't want to bother with hassling any one.
Ah well, I emailed support and I'll see how it goes.
I was wondering if they were going to re-release these properly. I guess they are either re-working things or tabling the bag for now. Shame. Wanted one for the GF for Xmas. Trying to get her into pins.
Just as an update for one of the old bags in the wild. Been in there for 2 weeks or so since these guys came in the latest DSB run. Normally this was left out and aired several months before pins went near it and NEVER moved from its position but to flip pages to add newer pins.
Cabbie98 was this one of the original bags or one of the replacements?
Original flavor.
All original bags will eat eyeballs. Brian has replaced a number of them for people (I snagged a replacement at PAX Aus), but overall they don't seem to have done a good job of reaching out to people.
Maybe I am Unlucky, but I got one of the traded bags from Brian and it still ate some eyes. I wouldn't trust the bags at all. I'll be returning it to him when Pax Aus eventually comes back.

They pretty much confirmed that even the replacement bags were problematic. They're going back to the drawing board, but I'm sure they'll take care of everyone once that's done.

They were both on the same page and the bag was only closed during South. I will probably move to a different storage method at this point.

I don't see how anyone can make jokes about this situation
You need to see it through a different lens.
