As the title suggests, what did you trade at Prime this year? Exciting, mundane, in your favor, or just to be kind to a new collector, let's hear 'em. There was at least one DLC trade, as well as a trade for a full Aus 13 set, so there must be some cool stories from this year.
Going first, the pin(s) on the left are what I traded away for those on the right.
Trades with collectors
Sarkhan Unbroken (East) for Sarkhan (Aus)
Kemperoo for Doom Revenant
Doom Revenant for Rage of Demons
CTS for Tin Man Games
Kappa for Prime shield (my wife did this one)
Moonrise Nemony for Ellie
Pinny Arcade Logo (2012) for Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime
Trades with staff (listing only those received, since I can't remember the fodder I traded)
Lookouts Crest (I love those things, and they seem to be disappearing)
2x World of Warships (Did people dislike these? They kept getting dumped on the table.)
2x Coffee Kemper (my favorite kemper that I need to hoard)
Beemo
Trades with exhibitors
Traded a Harmonix dev an Iron Guard Stance for a Rock Band pin
Traded a Screen Cheat dev a Moonrise for a Tin Man Games pin (he was given a stash by Tin Man Games to bring and trade)
Man, I don't even remember half of the trades, but I got so many I had wanted. It took me a fair while to updated my lanyard to take off the ones I've gotten. A few that made me particularly happy:
Trades with collectors
His Hearthstone Cards (I think this was Happendy? in the LE merch line, my first in-person trade) for my Carl
His Vault Boy for my Iced Coffee Kemper + Tyto shirt (I was literally jumping for joy afterward)
PAX Prime 10th Anniversary Shield (while waiting in the staff trading overflow room) for my (I literally don't remember but I'm sure it wasn't nice enough)
Ranger Danger! (Jamie's Hobby/adorable Corgi!) I fear I don't remember who was so kind to trade this one to me or what I traded.
Her Pipistrella and Vampiress for my Rainbow Horse with @burned.fork 's wife, whose name has slipped my mind
Trades with staff
Every single 3.0 staff head for a whoooole bunch of fodder thanks to @merchmistress being a super bro to the staff trading overflow room

I didn't come in with much so ended up doing less trading than anticipated:
My sketch set for their Sadira and Orchid
My Aus 14 Tycho and Commander BRAAAAGH for their Karl
My Jerkimedies and Pipistrella for their 2x rainbow horse (we were both trying to finish sets early Friday, we didn't know how hot the horse would be)
My Crockett for their AOE Castleguy (trade of the century)
My 15x dsb/store pins for a bag of staff heads
Gave away 9 coffee/dunkin/crockett kempers, 1 commander BRAAAAGH, 1 vault boy, and 2 gideon.
Hoo boy, I did a lot of trading, lets see if I can remember.
Hightlight of PAX: 1 of each shield, 1 of each polygon, Ellie, 15th Anniv., Rainbow 6, and (I think?) another pin for a full Aus '13 set with @silrn
Other Trades:
Rock Band for Vault Boy
3-way trade with some new traders, gave up my light Garruk for something I forget and then they got a Prime Poly
Aus Kemper for Tabletop Tycho, Kitty Kemper, Hanna, and another pin
Fodder pins for full Core 1.0 and 2.0 sets
First trade of the PAX was my Carl for an Aus Shield
Turned in the Runic scavenger hunt for a Sprite pin, staff member mentioned he was looking for Sir Ranger Danger pin, so I went and traded the Sprite for Jamie's hobby pin, then went back and traded the hobby pin for another Sprite. Super roundabout but he was really happy about it!
And of course I have officially joined the Castle Guy Club by trading @merchmistress at the table for mine!
Honestly I'm staring at my trading lanyard and I don't exactly remember where most of them came from. The lanyard I came to Prime with has been completely replaced with different pins with the exception of one just from trading around. Once I had the Aus set and the core sets I wanted to trade for I just tried to do my best to keep trading and enjoy meeting folks so half the time I wasn't too fussed over what I was trading for. Overall, great trading experiences at Prime, 11/10, 5 stars, would Seattle again.
I cannot remember all my trades, but my favorite trade was with a young man who wanted my adventure time pins but only had one pin. Happendy was right next to him and traded him multiple pins for his one pin so this young man could get the adventure time pins. He was sooo excited! I saw him the next day with a full lanyard back at the table! Another one comes to the pinny side!
Attendees/Staff
East Poly for a Prime Shield with the Woman wearing the blue sash (nicest woman ever).
PNW Kemper for Kemperoo (missed out on a PNW for Baby Kemper :bigfrown:)
PAX 15 logo for PAX 13 logo
Gideon for Ben Kuchera
Exhibitors
East Sarkhan for AUS Sarkhan at the D&D booth.
There were a ton of other minor trades, but those stood out and it was easily my most trading at any PAX to date.
I traded a fodder pin for an upside down pin at Brian's game and got a Valentine's Day pin out of it. Then, someone placed a Valentine's Day pin on the trade table next to me for a staff head or something like that. I dropped another fodder to snag it up quickly. I was taking 2 ladies through the trading line that were new to trading (one started last PAX, had a few pins then, dove in face first this year like a mad woman; the other just started that day, and is a Kemper collector). I asked the former lady if she had a Valentine's Day pin and she said "Not yet." "You do now", and I traded it to her for one of her fodder pins. @jkalles then offered up a Colonial Kemper from his personal stash to the latest Kemperite, and Mike had her do a blind trade with him and she also got a Valentine's Day pin.
From this point on, my focus at the staff trading event is going to be helping out new pin collectors. This was way too much fun to not do again. Now to actually start thinking about how to solidify the concept of a "Pinstructor"...
Also, I got to meet @merchmistress! I'm waiting for her to mock up a Pinny Pals poster after the PA Pins poster, and pinning up all the selfies she's taken.
Pins for trade!

[*] 2x World of Warships (Did people dislike these? They kept getting dumped on the table.)
No, they were just one of the easiest pins to get multiples of without spending money this time. 1x pin every play through, the line was typically not very long. Harmonix was another easy one until they ran out on Sunday.
As far as my trades, I couldn't remember even half of them... What I do remember:
Traded a spare Hearthstone for a spare Prime Polygon which I then traded for a South Polygon.
Traded a Carl for an East Polygon.
Turned 3x Behemoth pins, a Iver, and a Vault Boy into a Behemoth Rainbow Horse, Lovers is a Dangerous Space Time, Bellower, Diamond Block, and Co-Optional podcast.
Traded a Harmonix for a Riptor.
Another Harmonix for a Starslip Prime.
Another Harmonix for a Lovers is a Dangerous Space Time.
A Warships for a Valentines Day which I traded to a friend for a Tyto.
Traded a number of Warships for Behemoth pins.
Traded a couple of last years staff pins for this years staff pins along with a large number of Sprites/Warships/Gideons at the staff pin panel.
A large number of trades in between it all. Came home with a full Prime set, a south and east Polygon, an extra Tyche and Gabbie, 3 spare Prime Core sets to trade for other location core sets and it looks like 5 spare Prime Polygons.
Traded a spare Hearthstone for a spare Prime Polygon which I then traded for a South Polygon.
WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU HIDING MY ENTIRE PAX?!?!?!
I would've thrown my Poly at you if I heard the Hearthstone cards being offered. It's the only Blizzard pin I don't have :-(

I am not a huge trader, but I came to Prime wanting a South Sheriff badge & a Star Trek badge.
I got the South badge at the staff table by trading a World of Warships. (I noticed a lot of people had multiples of this badge because every time you went through the line you were entered into their raffle, and you got a different shirt each day.)
Throughout the con I had tried to trade for the Star Trek badge a few times, but had no luck. Then on Monday, just before I had to leave, I stopped by the staff table one more time to see what was available. A nice woman approached me and wanted to trade for my Order. She pulled out her book and I saw the elusive Star Trek. After a few seconds on indecision she finally agreed to the trade and we were both very happy.
There were some lovely traders hanging out around the main merch booth. I ended up doing a three way trade for a Vault Boy pin (which my boyfriend lost, whoops!). But I was so pleasantly surprised that there are still lovely people who will trade down just to spread the wealth around. It's a lovely culture that we've managed to create and I hope it continues.
I don't remember all of my trades, lots of staff heads (since I still have nowhere near all of them)
Things that stick out:
Prime Polygon for a South Polygon which I later traded for a Carl Swangee
Companion Cube for an enforcer pin
Behemoth Unicorn for a south star
Lovers for Kemperoo
Lots of other little trades that I just can't remember right now...
I also got to witness the DLC trade in the lobby at the trading session, that was just ... I don't know what. Lots of pins.
I traded a Kappa for Hearthstone Cards + The Order
- Kappa + Warships + Rage of Demons for Leeroy Jenkins
- Rock Band for Wilson
- Prime Polygon for Vault Boy
With the exception of my Club PA and a LE pin, I traded every pin I brought to Prime. Our collection went from approximately 130 to 216/297, which I was super happy about. Thank you to everyone who traded pins with me throughout the show.
I did quite a few trades, many of which I can't remember. I try to be more generous on trades if it's something someone really needs.
East 13 Kemper for Overwatch + Rage of Demons
Twitch Glitch for Kappa
4 fodder for Kappa
Vault Boy for Kappa
Kappa for 4 Salmon Kemper
Vault Boy for Prime Poly
Vault Boy for Rock Band
Sarkhan for Sarkhan Unbroken
Sarkhan Unbroken for 2 Salmon Kemper
South Poly for Rainbow Horse
ETC for Jerkimides
I got a Rage of Demons, LRR Muffins, Commander Bragh, and Sprite from the staff trading event.
I gave away a Kemper Crockett to a little girl, and corgi to another random person.
I think this trade was pretty well known - Full Prime 15 set (38 pins) for Blind Merch + 30 fodder.
I also did a second trade - Aus 13 Logo + Aus 13 Gabe + Aus 13 Tycho for Blind Merch.
First year with some pins to trade, and I got some pins I really wanted.
From my DSB boxes, I had 3 that I was willing to give up.
Star (a duplicate) -> went to a guy at the Pinny Panel for a Baby Gabe, very happy about that...I love that set.
Aus Dropbear -> went to a girl on the expo floor for an ETC pin, which I've wanted since I got into Heroes this summer.
Helmet Tycho (a duplicate) -> Went to Jerry for a Zombie Tycho. Maybe it should have been one of my double Behemoth pins, but my brain went straight to a Tycho for a Tycho while trading with Tycho.
Other trades:
I desperately wanted a Cardinal, and asked everyone that I talked to about it. *EVERYONE*. Even chased Jamie around since someone told me she had two (and I was hoping to grab her staff pin too), but I barely missed her at the merch booth...literally by a minute or two. She left while I was paying for my core set pins and merch. Finally, one of the guys from the Magic Tournament in the Annex gave me very explicit instructions on how to find his coworker there. It was like following an RPG quest. I found him and he happily traded for my extra Behemoth bird logo pin. Hooray! Cardinal obtained!
I also landed some staff pins that I wanted, even though I missed the pinny trading event. Traded one of those Behemoth bears with Jeff for his pin, traded an extra Acq Inc pin with Kiko. I had also been asking everyone, even Mike and Jerry, where Robert Khoo was but no one knew. So the staffers took pity on me and traded me for a Robert pin on Monday. Yay!
After all of this, I felt like my personal pin quest for PAX was complete. Played some Rock Band, met a lot of awesome pin pals, got the buyable pins on my list, traded for a few pins that I really wanted. So much fun!

My best trade was the one that got me a Blind Merch. I believe it was 1 Prime Shield, 4 Aus Shields, 1 Core 2012 Variant Set, 1 Dark Garruk, 1 East Chandra, 2 New Years Eve Pins, and a 15th Anniversary still in the wrapper. A bit brute force, but I now have my DSB, and that's really all I care about.
So my trades were probably uncountable. But the major highlights were:
-Traded away 3 Full Aus 13 Sets to various Pinny Pals. I now have no more that I'll travel with... but I guess I could trade for some ;D
-Gave away approximately 50 pins from my blind grab bag to new traders, told em to grab 2-3 and show me what they got. That was a lot of fun, I'll be trying to do that again.
-During the wait for the AI Theater to be filled, traded with a Cookie Brigadier to start back up her lost collection (started with the aforementioned blind bag), traded her an Aus Chandra for her Rage of Demons, a Crockett Kemper for her Rock Band and a full Aus 14 set for her Tyto. She seemed pretty happy!
Minecraft Diamond Block for Elspeth (I didn't know if Jeff wanted one as well as his son, but I overheard him say to his son that this would be an extra one)(Also I didn't realize she was rare?)

Tyche for Fodder
An enforcer who didn't find Jerry and couldn't attend the autograph session for one
Story: So this was one of the best moments of PAX for me. When I saw Mike I approached and he said hi and he asked if I wanted to trade and I said no I already had Gabbie. I then mentioned that I wanted to chat with him but was bad at making conversation and he said he was too, so I said I would just kind of stand there (to the side and when someone wanted to trade and I was in the way I moved). So at some point I asked him if his kids had gotten the Minecraft pin because Jeff's kid wanted one and Mike's kids were fans and he said they had, that ThinkGeek gave them each one. I jokingly said I was surprised he didn't just get them it as the owner of Pinny Arcade and how he must have a complete collection. He talked about how he didn't and Gavin mentioned only collecting the ones he liked, especially with how many there are now. And how surprised people were to see his actual collection. Mike then mentioned wanting a Star Wars pin and I said I could give him one. He was grateful and asked what I wanted for it and I said I was just going to give it to him, but he said no and asked @merchmistress to get a "Cool Pin." She pulled a Rayman out of a bag and asked if that was okay and I of course said yes! For two reasons, 1 is I didn't have one and 2 is because no matter what was offered I would say yes to him. He thanked me for the trade and put the pin away and not on the table.
It was the best trading experiences of PAX for me!
Gavin's Personal Collection
Tyto for PAX East 2013 Logo
Story Continuation: So after the above trade, Gavin asked if I had a Tyto and I said yes, while trying to make small talk about Lexxy designing it or at least the characters but forgetting her name and getting a weird look from Mike and Gavin so I got flustered. I have no clue if I said something wrong or not. He asked what I wanted, and since Mike didn't want me to just give it to him I thought Gavin wouldn't want that either so i said "Anything but Fodder," because his table was covered in it from staff trades. He got either from his bag or from MerchMistress a PAX East 2013 Logo and asked if that was okay and I said yes for similar reasons. He said thanks and put it on his lanyard and when someone else asked if it was for trade he said that it along with the RainbowHorse were for his personal collection.

So as it turns out, a lot of my PAX Prime set trades actually happened at Prime, so now I'm short on extra pins. I have some that I'm not sure if I want to keep or not so they are iffy trade material. So funny how that worked out.
edit: remembered I traded the Rainbow Six with an Enforecer for the IC Kemper and a bin it to win it with Fay
I wasn't sure how thorough you all wanted or if I went overboard.
I'm not sure how I could remember that much trading without specifically writing it down!
- I had a Leeroy Jenkins on my bag most of the weekend that many asked about, and that came from a trade on Friday before the Twitch panel: Twitch Glitch and Star Trek Timelines for Leeroy Jenkins and Overwatch Logo. And also noted that many were willing to make that exact same trade when I asked for Twitch Glitch pins the rest of PAX.
- I found someone to trade a Clicker to! I don't remember what I got in return though, but it was decent and not a Clicker.
- Traded for two Vault Boy on Friday, and wasn't able to get into the morning line to buy it for the rest of PAX. Whew.
- The "rubbed out eye" staff pins were on my bag on Monday for a bit of silliness. @silrn noticed and traded me things for them (and replaced Kuchera) with a plan in mind. See the eyes thread for the result.
- I spotted someone in the Expo Hall with a Wilson, and traded a Drop Bear for it. Later traded that Wilson for Kappa.
There's so many trades that I don't remember details about too. All I know is, the pins on my bag look totally different than the pins I came to PAX with.
So what's the general strategy for trading. Do you guys bring up the conversation or does the other person? I am only wearing two pins on my badge (cardinal and atoi) so I guess people wouldn't generally ask me to do trades even though I carry around all my available pins. Would it help if I was carrying around the official trading bag or one of the bags maywest made? I mean I was in line at Merch Lite on Friday and Monday and was one of the first people at the Bethesda booth on Friday. I recognize some of you guys but you guys probably don't know me because I don't really get to attend the pre-meets and didn't even get into the trading event. Probably has to do with my shy personality as well, lol.
PAX Prime attendee since 2008.
Another year of Prime gone by... commence the struggle!
- I spotted someone in the Expo Hall with a Wilson, and traded a Drop Bear for it. Later traded that Wilson for Kappa.
Damn son, you traded my Wilson for a Kappa? I ain't even mad, that's a well played trade.
Also, dchoy, if I'm on the hunt for a pin, I'll go looking for lanyards and offering trades, even if I don't have my lanyard on. I always have my bag with me, at the very least. If I've got spares and am looking to openly offer trades, I'll wear the lanyard, and oftentimes - like with Hacky - people will come up and peruse.
No fear, though. Even if you're shy, it's a very gentle process usually. ^_^ I've only had one or two weird trade encounters. I would suggest keeping a lanyard prevalent with spares you have, just so people know you're open to trading. That's the easiest way to advertise.
I definitely couldn't write up all the trades we did at Prime, since it was probably close to 30. My wife really likes making trades. Other than the Aus 2013 set trade that was arranged before PAX and completed at the Pre PAX game night, the big trade was for our extra Donatello Merch. That trade happened while waiting in line for the pin trading event. Took a picture of the final deal:
Also while in the trade line, offered up the pins we were planning on putting down for staff trades to those waiting alongside us. They could pick any of the pins in exchange for one fodder of their choosing. Made new traders happy to fill some holes in their collection.
Lastly, traded a core Gabe & Beemo for the "Bad Ass" Battleborn sunglasses. Worth it.
So what's the general strategy for trading. Do you guys bring up the conversation or does the other person?
When I was at East I got one random offer from a guy in a line with me and one offer from someone while I was Enforcing. Normally I don't get too much attention because my trades on my lanyard are generally not great, and so I don't really go up and ask people for trades because I don't have much of quality to offer. I'm kind of hoping that my collection of US pins, even though they're mostly cores, will get some people in Aus excited.
I can't remember if it was him I traded for IcedCoffee Kemper but I think it was for an Emu...Do you remember? I want to get it right because I kind of want to log all my trades now because of how fun they are.
Minecraft Diamond Block for Elspeth (I didn't know if Jeff wanted one as well as his son, but I overheard him say to his son that this would be an extra one)(Also I didn't realize she was rare?)

Yowza, great memory! I think I might start trying to keep record of each trade I make at PAX as well, though I might have to carry around a little booklet to write them down in or something. As for your question, I definitely remember the Starslip for Vault Boy trade, but I'm fairly certain it wasn't me with the Emu Tycho since the only aus '14 pin I got (and traded away) during Prime was the Dropbear Gabe.
So what's the general strategy for trading. Do you guys bring up the conversation or does the other person? For me, I won't approach someone unless I see like half a dozen pins on their lanyard. If it's just one or two, I assume they are only displaying those one or two pins because they like the games.

I display, like, 25 pins on my Lanyard because I like the games. ;P But I'll still trade for more things I like!
@BrushwoodMutt - I can verify that 00fayt00 really wanted your Riptor pin because he was trying to get one for me as part of a trade for a DSB Merch. I'm sure he got a good deal in the end.
- I spotted someone in the Expo Hall with a Wilson, and traded a Drop Bear for it. Later traded that Wilson for Kappa.
Damn son, you traded my Wilson for a Kappa? I ain't even mad, that's a well played trade.
There's more behind that particular trade too!
Late Monday, someone had their eye on the Wilson, and I proposed Wilson for two Rock Band pins on his lanyard, one of which was the RB4 logo from East. To my surprise, he mentioned that the RB4 logo had sentimental value to him. As it turns out, he was involved in the creation of the promo video for Rock Band 4. And I totally understood.
So his wife takes a Kappa from her lanyard, and offers it to me for the Wilson. I accepted it, and then she hands Wilson to him. "We'll discuss this trade later".
That's why I love pin trading. Let's see where this Kappa goes, see you at South.
My daughter turned down a second Kappa pin from the Twitch booth people because she thought it would be better if someone else got it since she already had one. She then traded some random guy some forgettable pin for Twitch Glitch. She was thrilled and I told her all about Karma. I traded my Starwars pin for Vaultboy.

I wasn't approached for trading much at PAX, despite having a Leeroy on my lanyard the whole time. I think I made 4 trades?
In the pin trading overflow room: My East Shield for their Prime Shield (it completed her shield set, I felt good about that), my Colonial Kemper for their World of Warships (it hurts to let go of a Kemper, but being a morning [E] meant obtaining few of my own time sink pins, plus I am bad at saying no in person)
Staff: My PNW Tycho for their Red (with Beker after correctly guessing his first blind bag game!), My Twisp for their PNW Kemper (with Dabe after a Q&A)
Misc: A couple spare pairs of PAX South sunglasses for an Anubis and a Gideon (I think), gifted a Coffee Kemper for my friend who is a casual/new collector and is in love with that pin

WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU HIDING MY ENTIRE PAX?!?!?!
I would've thrown my Poly at you if I heard the Hearthstone cards being offered. It's the only Blizzard pin I don't have :-(
2015 PAX Prime Omeganaut (I will forever hate Katamari)
I also hope I was able to help a few people get some holes filled in.
Pinnypals will be updated as soon as I finish unpacking. I HOPE to fill in a few of the gaps I have, but they are pretty big holes.

Everything I brought with me to PAX
Received from airline
A shitty coach seat, no meal, and being treated like garbage
Check out my YouTube Pinny Arcade Videos!
Also, Q's situation... Worst trade ever.
Seven misc. pins for an Aus Chandra
Four misc. pins for a Carl
Prime Poly, South Poly, plus two pins for a Fallout
Reducing my collection!
Always looking to trade.

MerchIt was the best trading experiences of PAX for me!
edit: remembered I traded the Rainbow Six with an Enforecer for the IC Kemper and a bin it to win it with Fay
Another year of Prime gone by... commence the struggle!
https://www.pinnypals.com/pals/dchoy
Worth it.
Dinotimecopforce.com
When I was at East I got one random offer from a guy in a line with me and one offer from someone while I was Enforcing. Normally I don't get too much attention because my trades on my lanyard are generally not great, and so I don't really go up and ask people for trades because I don't have much of quality to offer. I'm kind of hoping that my collection of US pins, even though they're mostly cores, will get some people in Aus excited.

For me, I won't approach someone unless I see like half a dozen pins on their lanyard. If it's just one or two, I assume they are only displaying those one or two pins because they like the games.
Always looking to trade.
2015 PAX Prime Omeganaut (I will forever hate Katamari)
I display, like, 25 pins on my Lanyard because I like the games. ;P But I'll still trade for more things I like!
@BrushwoodMutt - I can verify that 00fayt00 really wanted your Riptor pin because he was trying to get one for me as part of a trade for a DSB Merch. I'm sure he got a good deal in the end.
Perhaps I can interest you in my meager selection of pins?
2015 PAX Prime Omeganaut (I will forever hate Katamari)
I traded a prime sheild for and Aus sheild. (my golden goose)
https://www.pinnypals.com/pals/Fugitoid
Trade me pins, yo: https://www.pinnypals.com/pals/Lazorz
