I tend to ask before picking up a second grimoire. Because while a single grimoire isn't that crippling, a second grimoire can be a real burden and I'll rather finish a mission with 1 grimoire than dying with 2.

As for Tomes. They're not really that crippling. Either the mission is a breeze, or you'll already be on a healing item deficit by the time tomes become an issue.

A lot of characters get a huge upgrade when carrying 1 grimoire, so I will always be pro-at least one grim.

It really depends on the map and difficulty. On champion I will 100% be against a second grim on Burblespew Cumberpatch or Into the Nest with a pug - Into the Nest is a really really long mission to then risk dying on at the last boss.

Yeah, I occasionally have to lecture my friends when we're playing that if we're having some difficulty then grabbing a second grim is probably not the best idea. A failed mission gives no loot.

Kerillian really gets annoying after a while. I don't know how many "mayflies" and "Lumberfoots" I can take in the long run.

Also, I don't think she has a single comment that isn't insulting, dismissive or snooty.

I like that a lot of Kerillion's lines, even if they are insults, are begrudging acknowledgements that the rest of the crew are people she respects on some level.

Like, she still thinks they're dumb not-elves but they're her dumb not elves at this point.

    Patch 1.03
    Heroes!

Patch 1.0.3 (~115mb) is out now for Vermintide 2, with a healthy dose of fixes, tweaks and stability improvements.

    Fixes / Tweaks

Fixed so ‘Deeds’ are able to change enemy types used in patrols as well
Fixed Flamestorm Staff and Drakefire Gun triggering headshot HUD sounds
The upgrade cost of an item now matches the listed requirements
Upgrading an item with an illusion will not result in salvaging the item
    Headgear can now be salvaged
Upgrading an item with an illusion will no longer result in salvaging the item
Fixed an issue where Gatekeeper Naglfahr could transform into multiple Chaos Spawns
Added more rain to The Screaming Bell level
Fixed hole where player could fall under the bell platform on The Screaming Bell
Fixed dinner bell interaction box on Hunger In The Dark being too small to use
Fixed backtrack points out of the cellar on Fort Brachsenbrücke
Fixed issue causing some players to not get their Collector’s Edition character frames
Fixed occasion where players would be incorrectly kicked for anticheat violation
Added anti cheat panel for untrusted states to help resolving issues
When state is not trusted - or when a player has been banned, we present them with detailed information
Removed visible lines in the top and bottom of the screen caused by the outline shader
    Heroes & Balance

    Kerillian - Waystalker

Rejuvenating Locus - Fixed an issue where party members would receive no healing from Rejuvenating Locus if Kerillian was above half health. Party members will heal up to half health regardless of Kerillian's current health value
Vaul's Quiver - Will now grant an amount of ammo based on your weapon’s maximum ammo. This means that a Swiftbow - with a larger ammo capacity, will receive more than a Hagbane Bow
Also fixed an issue where Vaul’s Quiver would cease to give ammo when Kerillian was above half health
    Kerillian - Shade

Ereth Khial's Herald - Fixed an incorrect tooltip showing 100% bonus to Murderous Prowess instead of 75%. The talent remains unchanged, this was simply a tooltip inconsistency
    Markus Kruber - Foot Knight

Protective Presence - Fixed to properly apply buffs when modified by talents
    Markus Kruber - Huntsman

Outdoorsman - Fixed to properly grant a stamina shield
    Sienna Fuegonasus - Unchained

Blood Magic - To avoid self-detonation, Sienna will no longer convert received damage to overcharge while being incapacitated
    Stability / Performance

Improved CPU optimizations for enemy and bot AI decision making
Fixed crash occurring when the Chaos Spawn tried to throw away a grabbed player after the rest of the team had wiped
Fixed rare crash happening when a Chaos Spawn was finished smashing a player into the ground, but that player left the game the same moment
Fixed Burblespue Halescourge who would cause a crash if a Globadier followed the players into the arena, and accidentally hurt the boss sorcerer. Bunglesnatch Humbledink then tried to retaliate against the poison cloud... Silly Blunderstunt.
Fixed a crash where a Skaven enemy tried to walk to a disabled interest point. (The interest point system handles interactions of enemies out of combat.)
Increased stability when losing contact with Steam
Fixed infrequent crashes that could occur on The Screaming Bell
Fixed crash that could occur when firing the cannon on Fort Brachsenbrücke
Fixed crash that could occur when a Warpfire Thrower hit a channeling sorcerer during the end event of Convocation of Decay
Fixed crash that could occur when a player leaves the game
Fixed crash when voting for a mission while a player vote kick is active
Decreased number of access violations during start up caused by XAudio2
Added an error message box when trying to launch DX12 binaries on any other OS than Windows 10
Game no longer uninstalls itself after a particularly rare crash
    Known Issues

Backend issues with ISP UPC in Poland is still unresolved. We are working on this continually
The host can crash during the Skarrik Spinemanglr boss fight if a player joins/leaves the game
Skittergate bosses are currently in an unstable state
Localisation work is still ongoing, and we apologise for that. We’ll continue to add and improve as we patch
    Notes

Some players who participated in the open beta test have reported issues where the Skittergate level is unavailable. Due to a change in the level unlock system, those players will have to re-play Act 3 in order to unlock Skittergate.

Burblespew is (like all the boss fights really) a control fight, not a dps race.

First priority is to clear the adds. On Veteran and above he'll spawn a lot of elites that will chunk your group if left alone.
Dodging him is much easier done if you either behind him, or on the far side of the arena so you have time to move in between the pukeblobs.
The pillars sometimes do and sometimes don't block the puke, so generally I don't rely on them.
Don't try and res if he's facing you, the puke will interrupt it and damage you, since it's unblockable.
Like other bosses, he will generally focus on one player (but won't move towards them), so if you are that player, just work on dodging and being far away, and if you're not that player, flank him and unload.
When he retreats to a platform above, he'll lob artillery. I'm 99% certain you're safe if you move directly below him (you can also melee him through the floor with reach weapons).
For the tornado, obviously move to the edges. I've seen him cause a leech attack on people, but I haven't seen what indicates that coming.

Generally, I like saving ammunition for the end of the fight since when he gets low health he can decide to stay on platforms for ages.

As with all boss fights, having an elf and BW with pot-sharing conc potions can help both with both boss damage and add-clearing significantly.

...and of course, as always, Kill Hitler.

Just found out today that concentration potions up your special build rate. Coupled with a bolt staff building special charge on crits, I had a rat-troll almost stunlocked with Sienna alone because I could recharge the special almost before the stagger animation was done, and then all heat was dumped with each special use.

I feel real dumb for constantly turning up my nose at concentration potions until now.

Concentration potions can get really OP for bosses on Sienna. Switch that special talent to 30% cooldown reduction, get 10% on trinket, and get the trait for 50% longer potion duration. Every time you do the special you are starting at 40% of the bar, pretty much doubles the effectiveness.

I rolled my beamstaff with "reduce overheat on crit" and its so beautiful. One tap of the crit for a quarter of a second completely erases my overheat bar. Such a beautiful thing with enough crit. Stack temp health on crit, and reduce overheat on crit, get a crit beam going and you can wipe out bosses once you fish for the crit. Goddamn amazing thing.

I should clarify my main experience is with a beam staff so it's possible it works pretty okay on a bolt staff with overcharge return on crit, but I'm of the opinion that even post-nerf the special return on crit with the special vent talent generally gives me a more universally available special(and without having to abuse the beam staff crit mechanics, which Fatshark has already said wasn't intended) rather than just when I use a conc potion - which is still really really nice to have regardless, mind, but can't always count on even appearing in a higher difficulty stage/deed.

By the time I have high-max overcharge I nearly always have the special available to dump my overheat, and it's much more universally useful than my standard attacks, one-shotting that charging chaos champ or tagging that special that's hiding(or dragged a team mate) around a corner/ledge. And with the improved targeting as of the launch patch, it's an elegant wisp of death on regular mooks, frequently dancing around to tag flankers that the team might not have even seen.

It only hurts you if you currently abuse crit fishing, it won't really affect its average availability otherwise.

Pyro only gains higher crit at high overheat, and crit is an unreliable metric to try to use for raw damage output when you can just throw out the special for way more immediate damage.

you keep talking up how great the special ability is.. and his point was getting the 30% reduction in cooldown so you could use the special ability 30% more often? I have 0 problems with overheating with a beam staff because the second I get a crit (Which happens more often with higher overcharge) the overcharge completely dissipates because of the 8 less overcharge per crit and beam staves getting infinite crits once it starts up.
