PAX South 2 - Electric Boogaloo

I for one am super happy to be once again attending the Vacation PAX. My GF and I got an AirBn and I'm also excited, cus this will be the first PAX we share together. Not only that, but she's also collecting pins now! Hoping to use South as a sort of Tutorial Pin Trading experience for her, so that she'll be ready for when we do East. ^_^

Anyone else here getting excited? I was a little surprised to see the East thread, and not a South one started yet. C'mon y'all, where's the hype?

I for one am really excited to see how much South '16 grows and changes from '15. Can't wait to have another trader in our midst! If she's just getting started I hear there might be a pretty rad panel for that...

I got my gf into PAX, and Pinny Arcade at South last year. Hoping we can make a return trip this time around, even if only for a day or two. *fingers crossed*

This will be my first PAX with my sister and I'm a sucker for pins. I feel my wallet hurting. Any tips to collecting them all and trading would be awesome! Hope to get to say hi to you all!

No idea. I went up an escalator, took some pictures of the show floor, went down the escalator. Went up again for the pin panel, then back downstairs.

Yep. UpperSecond floors were pretty much that, execpt Tabletop freeplay of course. That was in the cavernous (having been in actual caverns, this undersells Tabeltop) space downstairs. Not to dismiss upstairs, it was pretty good. And the space Gearbox set up was pretty cool.

SOOOOO, this PAX South I am gonna have a smidge more free time then I had planned.

Why do you care? WELL. I have too many pins...not just fodder, but pins in general.

SO, if you find me at PAX South, and say the magic phrase "San Dimas High School Football Rules"

You will get a small box full of 3 or so random pins.

(Note: There will be at least 1 Armadeaddon pin in every box, and a nice non-fodder pin, the other pin probably fodder)

TLDR: Find me, say the magic phrase listed above, get a free box of pins

I'll do this as long as I have boxes...so far I've made like 6 boxes, if I can find more empty DSB boxes and bags, I'll make some more

Like a crazy person (or maybe just like those people on the hoarders shows that I swear to myself often that I am not) I have several empty blind boxes and the little blue bags that come with most of them. I'd have to dig them out to see exactly how many, but if you're interested I'm happy to send them to you.

Naw, I started trying to figure out my suitcase and 6 is pretty much my max. I will be giving away some other Armadeddon pins though in addition to the self-made DSBs . Really I am just trying to parse down what I have and want to give back to the Pinny Arcade Community, maybe help out some people just beginning to trade. Rare are the pins I will keep for myself (Chandra & Automata pins I love you so!) . If anybody has a PAX Aus Polygon tho, I would not turn it down :P trying to figure out sets to donate for the new year. So far a Automata bundle, Polygon bundle, and MAYBE another Kemper set is in the works.

People break for lunch at PAX? I subsist on granola bars and beef jerky eaten in lines until I wander into a restaurant late at night.

Hahaha I don't even remember consuming food at East last year, there was too much to do. Maybe I bought a turkey sandwich, I know I thought about doing that. Who knows.

Pre pax pin dinner of faces and friendship volume two!!! Who wants to plan it?? I'm guessing a spot on the riverwalk would be best. Is this something people want to do again. I enjoyed the two I went to. I should be able to plan it unless a local would like to. What are people's thoughts.
