Apparently Peyton owns a few Bud distributors, and players are not supposed to endorse alcohol themselves. So it may be a final "fuck you" to Roger on the way out the door.

Their offensive line also didn't really stop the blitz rush, just slow it down a bit. Cam got hit a lot of plays. I didn't watch any Carolina games, did he get hit that often in the regular season?
I think there were 7 or 8 sacks, but he took a hit damn near every play.
I think this was the game where Carolina's lack of receiver talent finally cost them.
especially since corey brown, who was their best receiver early, went out with a concussion
also, besides a good throwback to olsen on a third and short, i thought mike shula called a really bad game
he just didn't seem to adjust the routes at all, there was way too many times late in the game where 2 or 3 receivers were running long routes that didn't have a chance to develop

I wonder if they just weren't getting open in the short routes.

They had just enough good plays to tease you into thinking there might be a chance. Ted ginn's 30+ catch and run, funchess(?) snagging the ball between two defenders, Cotchery's amazing rolling catch "incomplete pass." But none of them are consistently talented enough to sustain a drive whien cam is getting pounded by 4 dudes and Olsen the other 3.

I honestly found the game kinda boring, but that is probably because I don't get that excited about amazing defensive play. Each team scored a single offensive touchdown, which is pretty yawntown for me.
It was nice to watch and not have a team I particularly cared about.

Cam just looked dejected after the first quarter. The Broncos took him completely out of his comfort zone.

Okay I realize that Denver just dismantled a really good QB for a defensive Owl win while trotting out a zombiefied starter at QB, but they seem to be really high on that list of SB51 odds for a team who's QB will be 'hell if I know' or 'below league average over his short fill in career'.
Brock lobster was a steady hand at the wheel while he filled in for Mannig and he can actually throw downfield. As long as they can keep the nucleus of that team together (minus Manning) I don't think it's out of the question for them to have another good season.

If this offseason the tides gets messed up, and suddenly there is a dark aspect on some summer's noon, do not be worried that's just the new money moon that Denver will need to create for Von Miller.

They won despite Manning. He had to have counted as a negative in that game.
I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be the favorite next year.
I think Panthers have a good shot at being real deal next year.
Get Benjamin back, draft another WR (they've had good luck so far, I feel). Maybe another TE, and shore up more defensive positions.
Shuffle up the receiver corps. I think Ginn is a good punt return man, and Cotchery's gotta be close to retiring so hang on to him. Maaaaybe keep Brown around, see if he develops. But Bersin and Norwood can probably be released.
Defense needs to get more endurance. Too many games were too close because the defense got gassed in the 3rd.
Special Teams though...man. Fire the fucking ST coach. Not just because of that clusterfuck, but just in general special teams have been a perennial problem for the Panthers.
Doesn't Denver have a ton of unrestricted free agents this off season? I know Miller is one for sure; I could easily see them not being able to pay everyone and having that defence regress a good amount next year.

I'd be very surprised if Miller doesn't get tagged. The only reason he wouldn't is that they agree on a multi-year deal.

They franchised Von Miller, so they'll sit on that for the year, let him earn a boatload of money, structure the rest of the team's money best they can, and hope that he doesn't perform quite as well next year and they can sign him to a reasonable contract.
e: Apparently they haven't actually done it yet but everyone expects them to.

Maybe people will have learned not to write off the team with the historically great D next time?
I think the Panthers are probably back in the superbowl next year. Glad I won't have to hear any shitty hot takes on Cam on sports radio.

The commercials were mostly bad or boring
Without a horse in the race in the Super Bowl it was just too boring for me.
Seriously, what is up with Eli?
He's farting.
Had to wait for it to get noisy.
He mad nobody pays attention to him anymore

Okay but Is Joe Flacco A Elite Quarterback?
Also, J Stew getting rolled up right off the bat kinda limited his effectiveness forcing them to rely on ol tubby Tolbert fumbling everything.
the strip sack TD was also super demoralizing

There were some pretty crucial drops too.
In general I enjoyed watching our defense way more than our offense.
Possibly because our defense actually, you know, played the damn game.
I hope they fire our ST coach.
It was nice to watch and not have a team I particularly cared about.
A common refrain at the party I was at was "damn, just imagine if Cam Newton had an actual receiver corps."
Crime spree!
LeSean McCoy involved in incident that hospitalizes 2 off duty officers
Cam got blown the fuck up, and even when he did get a pass off it was huried and on the run or off his back foot.
The game was about as good an example of "everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth" as you'll ever see.
I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be the favorite next year.
Panthers cite Royals as inspiration, then things get awkward.
