Little Gabe got double owned. First his dad beat his score. Then he had to go to school.

You've got all day to think about that score, kid. Enjoy those classes!

The fact the first thing Lil' Gabe asks is if his mom is OK is completely adorable.

Reminds me of the story about the guy who's wife kept beating his high score in something (I forget what), with her never realizing the top scores were saved in a text file, and all he was doing was editing the text file to put his score above hers, while she was beating his score the hard way.

Not something I'd put past Gabe in this situation, either.

This kinda reminds me of the old Kids in the Hall skit "Daddy Drank"

My dad sort of did this with missile command. Just out of the blue he decided to play it and murdered me and my friend's high scores. Then he was like, "Oh I played that game all the time when I was younger on atari" or something like that.

We had a Q*Bert clone for our PC called J-Bird, and my mom played it while we were at work or school. None of us ever came close to touching any of her high scores. Apparently it was a pretty faithful clone since my mom would clean up on actual Q*Bert machines too.

When my dad got the first PCs for his office, and before we got one for our house, I remember taking turns playing Minesweeper with my sister on the office computer. For a while I was better than her due to simply playing more video games in general, and being good at puzzles. I was the first one to get a sub 20 second score on beginner. Then a sub 15. Then she decided Minesweeper was her game. To my knowledge it's still the only non-card video game she's spent more than a few minutes on. And she spent waaay more than a few minutes.

Her scores are insaaane. In college her friends would ask me how she got so good because they'd occasionally watch her play.

Ok I have a strange question. I have always downloaded each days comic... I use them as my desktop background on rotate. I downloaded this comic on Feb 10, and it pops up again today... the problem is if I go backwards I have all the others but this one is out of order... This morning I thought hey I have seen this before. I know I get them a day early being on subscription but this shows up being created over a week ago... even shows up in my Time Machine a week ago on the 10th. Any idea what happened?

Hey jahue, if you look at the comments on the previous comic it seems like they accidentally uploaded today's comic for a bit before replacing it with Monday's comic

Can this be my birthday comic? It was last Thursday, but I like this one best. Is that in the rules?

Do I detect a Calvin & Hobbes moment in panel 1?

Now that you mention it, it DOES seem like a familiar situation. But this pretty comprehensive C&H search doesn't find it:

Feel like it could be another comic.
