watch the video its pretty interesting you dont have to agree with it, but just cause that guy has a bad rep on the internet doesnt mean everything he says is invalid.
he has a "bad rep" because he's one of the most virulent misogynists on the internet
everything he says is, indeed, automatically invalid
He says, three minutes into a fifteen-minute video, that if you don't agree with him you're a moron and should shut the video off.
I don't care how valid your points are, if you open with vitriol you are going to lose anyone in the audience who isn't both already in agreement with you and also at the same level of self-righteous anger/smugness that they consider anyone who doesn't agree as unworthy of respect.
Even if someone says something that contradicts a strongly-held opinion of mine, I will try to engage them as an intelligent individual deserving of respect, because there is no chance they will respond positively to what I say if I open up by telling them how stupid they are.
I could be completely correct in my argument, but if I go about framing it as how stupid they are to believe such a thing rather than how they are misinformed or unaware of why they are incorrect, then I am not engaging in a discussion in order to change someone's mind, I am doing it to stroke my ego.
That's it, if Vine thinks it's OK to literally hit my max volume with no way to turn it down, then I'm OK with blocking them from here on in.

Please stop making the console app shit YouTube.
Now they've made it so that even when you go into a channel you are subbed to, it will only show the 8 newest playlists they've updated.
Which makes some of my subs (like say, the gundam channel that's updating two different shows in six different languages) near impossible to sort through.
This thing was basically as good as it could be a couple months ago, and now it's dog shit.
I've been waiting forever for youtube to add the option for viewers to reverse order on playlists.
But no, sequential shows still show up going from newest to oldest.
Today I found out that a 6-month-old comment on my Giant Bomb Power Rangers video is by Hbomberguy, who I've become a huge fan of in the intervening time. Now we're following each other on Twitter. Happy day!
Edit: Oh wow, more on the nose than I thought. Watch till the end of the video. I was curious what happened to The Game OverThinker and In Bob We Trust recently, so I just last night went digging to see when episodes stopped - to see if it corresponded to SA being bought by Rooster Teeth's parent company.
So. Some changes are afoot, and it's time for a quick update. This technically should have been up sooner, but I was working a convention all weekend. Anyway...
You may have noticed that there wasn't a new episode of IN BOB WE TRUST this weekend. That wasn't an oversight - there wasn't one produced. IBWT and ALL-NEW GAME OVERTHINKER are both taking a bit of a hiatus. There won't be new episodes of either series for a time, and at this point I can't specifically say when they'll be back or in what form.
Don't freak out.
Here's the thing: The reality of Internet-based original programming is in the midst of a major evolutionary shakeup. As original web creators consolidate and grow bigger, in tandem with major media companies becoming increasingly part of the equation; the old model for web video i.e. self-producers making episodes week-to-week on their own self-determined schedule is gradually giving way to a more traditional TV-style "seasonal" model whereby shows come and go in arranged runs. You'll note, for example, that ScrewAttack's DEATH BATTLE is currently taking its break, and popular series like EPIC RAP BATTLES OF HISTORY have adopted the seasonal model to increase their production caliber and accommodate their live shows.
So it also goes for independent producers like myself: IN BOB WE TRUST and GAME OVERTHINKER were produced for a set run with ScrewAttack, that first run has concluded and now they're on break; while fans of ScrewAttack's broader content-library have no doubt taken note that BEST/WORST EVER and TOP TEN have started back up again. So goes the cycle. I can't say when my two series will return at this point, or in what form: It's possible that IN BOB WE TRUST (for example) might find a different homebase in the interim. It's also possible (again, for example) that you might see me on ScrewAttack with another brand-new series. All I can say on that front is that you should stay tuned.
I always thought the disclaimers at the beginning of Bob's work were really out of character, but I am sure that was part of protecting against fallout with The Escapist.
You know that insanely racist detergent commercial that was linked a couple pages back?
The agency "apologized" for it:
“We express our apology for the harm caused to the African people because of the spread of the ad and the over-amplification by the media,” the company said.
“We sincerely hope the public and the media will not over-read it.”
edit: this did resonate with me. I mean, I was 13 or so when the film came out, and it certainly got me into reading the books themselves, along with all sorts of other stuff.
Now I liked how he made them a primer and was not overall very deep into religion
As I know nothing about religion or Christians or whatever
I was saddened by the thing he said that people talked about it like adults as I don't read the comments nor am I that curious to with this video or series

I'm super glad Mikey goes into the thing people do with comparing and ranking different adaptations or sequels or remakes
It irritates the fuck out of me. It is entirely possible to enjoy two different versions or interpretations of the same story. You can enjoy them both for different reasons. You aren't required to like one more than the other, and one existing, certainly doesn't negate the other. If someone made a godawful remake of your favourite movie, your favourite movie STILL EXISTS AND IS STILL GOOD.
For example - I love Scott Pilgrim. In some parts, the movie and the book are almost identical, in others, they are wildly different. But they are both still great, and I still love both of them.

Wow, not having ScrewAttack has affected things.

Prompt: "The only time it is acceptable to play Banjo"
My answer: "Your name is Steve Martin."
Catches too much flak IMO
Steve Martin is very good though yes.
