This [chat] will temporarily fill the void in your work day
It will not give you purpose. The void surrounds us all.

Enjoy Arbys.

French girl's mum is convinced that the landline phone must have a loud speaker built in. It's not clear why this is important to her, but she won't rest until she finds how to trn it on.

So far she has pressed all of the buttons several times and hung up on her other daughter twice (French girl's sister is trying to speak to French Girl).

It's impressive how she refuses to acknowledge the possibility that there is no such function on this incredibly cheap handset that I bought to satisfy the sky technical helpline years ago.

it's my goal to convince mazzy his new place his haunted. I am not worried about sharing this goal publicly. The psyche and imagination is a powerful thing and over the course of weeks, and small suggestions at pax, though he may never admit it, he is going to have at least one night where he stares at the ceiling cursing my name

I'm pretty sure I was supposed to fight a capra demon at some point. Instead I just killed Pinwheel and found the Tomb of the Giants which I don't think I've ever done. It's also way dark so that's a problem.

Found astora's straight sword and got it to +2, killed the Moonlight Butterfly, no idea what I'm doing just moseying around being annoyed at skeletons. There's a bonfire I can see through a crack in the catacombs, I have NO IDEA how to get to it!

Capra demon is not obligatory to complete the game, but is on the usual path

you took the wrong turn at albuquerque a while back

And mazzy, you have to ask yourself,

that sound you heard the other night? You said on vent it was thunder, and that it just sounded different in a new place.

But it sounded more like you were asking for reassurance....

and I'm just saying one does not normally associate thunder with the adjectives "growling" or "guttural"

@Evil Multifarious I guess wrt quantitative and qualitative methods, it does seem to me that often social scientists leave laughably huge gaps between the qualitative hypothesis of interest and the quantitative data that's supposed to be establishing it, especially when it comes to doing public press. But as much as they may overstate their support, at least I give em credit for trying: they're at least thinking to themselves "what sort of intersubjectively accessible data could help confirm this hypothesis, and what would count against it?" And there's a certain discipline and built in anti-bullshit element to that which is missing in more purely qualitative forms of cultural criticism, e.g. some semi-literary reporter introspecting about their emotional resonance with a hand-picked qualitative case study from the midcentury or whatever.

    @Ludious

Actually it was a 35+ year old tree crashing down due to 66 mph winds.

Saw the clean up the next day.

Good luck trying though. I have lived next to grave yards and in places that probably were haunted.

Hell I have some stories. Not so much Synd level stories but I got my share.

I told my team that I hate optimizing code and also am bad at it and also don't know how to do it.

But from what I can tell no one else is actually working on this project, so now I am staring at a python line profiler and I don't remotely understand how to use it. How annoying...

Uh yeah that..is not going to turn out well.
Also don't they know if they cut state funding too much they lose federal funding
    I can't even.
When I drove downtown yesterday to that AFL-CIO thing there were news crews lined up all around the Capitol building. But you know they're all just reporting on the Governor scandal and not the horrible everything else

    as I have posted before

here's a really easy way to test whether a place is haunted:

    it isn't.
