    You don't have to go like, set the town on fire, but hell, you're out, you're drunk, if you've got a pub you like, just hit it up, settle down at the bar, watch a game or whatever's on the TV, have some fun, maybe talk to people.

    No reason not to have a nice night. "Seated alone at the bar, enjoying a nice pint" is a perfectly acceptable and traditional social activity.

    I went out for a walk tonight by myself, does that count?

    There were like half a dozen police trucks and boats at the little wharf/loading dock near my house. I wonder if it was a drill or if there was someone needing help on the lake.

    I never thought so, and I never found a bar to be particularly depressing, unless you're starting out depressed. Then everything including kittens is depressing.

    I don't find anything wrong with a nice quiet pint, have a bit of a chat with the bartender if you know them, regulars, etc.
