Locking Pin Backs and PAX East

I went to PAX East this past month and bought a set of locking pin-backs for $5. Does anyone know how these things actually work? There's no instructions or anything.

Also, were they supposed to give me two packs or just one? In the store I noticed PA is selling two packs of pinbacks for $6, but they only gave me one pack for $5.

Hmm yeah it sounds like you probably should've gotten two sets instead of the one. The way that they work is pretty straightforward. There's a large cylinder that flares out on the pin side and then there's a plate on the opposite end that you can pull out. You just push the back onto the pin post like normal to put it on, but when you want to take it off you pinch the flared cylinder in a way where you push out the plate on the back as well to release the lock. Hopefully that makes sense!

Pinny pins use standard posts. So you can just buy your own locking backs for substantially less. And if you are really concerned, you can buy very secure ones.

I bought 50 or so on eBay from a seller in China, and they work fine.

I just last night ordered the exact set @YoungFrey linked to. It's a far better deal that at the PAX merch booth or the Penny Arcade store.
