Google Slides to MS Powerpoint

KyouguKyougu Registered User regular
Hey guys,

I have a presentation to give in my teaching class tomorrow and I been working on it in google slides. The class computer has MS, so i'll be downloading the file (.pptx format) and using it there. I just tried that and noticed some images don't seem to transfer over. For the life of me I can't figure out why, as others did.

Have any of you have that issue? Any work arounds?

You mileage will very greatly when making slides outside Powerpoint and getting them into the program. There all kinds of formatting are simply non-compatible. I have had luck exporting the file to different formats like Libreoffice Impress (odp), Office 97 version, (ppt), Office 2002+(pptx) , and anything else that PowerPoint may be able to digest. You may get lucky with a format that only requires a bit tweaking.

Do you have any animations in the presentation? If not, I can recommend that you export it as PDF and just do a full screen presentation from that.

Yeah, I've never had good luck transitioning between Google Docs and PPT. It almost always requires rebuilding a significant number of slides.

@Basar's suggestion is a good one, if you don't have any animations (and, realistically, you probably shouldn't have animations in your presentation).

    PDF is good.

Also can you just open in Google Drive online and play from the presentation PC?
