telltale is making a batman game it comes out august 2 you do detective stuff as batman and also bruce Wayne seems good let's talk about it

    I get that having a small team is kind of their thing, but yeah sometimes their engine just kneecaps their awesome stories, like it's one thing to have so so looking visuals, it's another for cutscenes to pause for seconds at a time during action. Tales of the borderlands did make some improvements for me, but wolf among us the last 3 episodes still pause for like 4 or 5 seconds every camera change during action sequences for me, on Xbox one.

    Also a game that's all about watching people talk where the animations are stilted and odd and the lip synching looks like Oblivion. It's just a bummer. Ah well, I'll still buy it a few episodes in and love it now doubt

    I also think they must just sell really well on iPad and such so they need to keep that platform viable

    Ep 1 is good not great, I like this version of batman they're setting up but it hits a lot of predictable notes for a telltale game about early batman

    Yeah I'm not super interested in a Batman story that I already know pretty much all of the beats to

    I'll be interested if/when I hear that they're doing something new or interesting with the material

    They're doing some things I wouldn't expect of a typical Batman story.
    Calling the Wayne's integrity into question, Cobblepot's an old friend of Bruce and seems to be a budding anarchist, and Catwoman knows Batmans secret identity already.
    I'm not super-knowledgeable about Batman stories outside of mainstream media, but I'm really not sure where they're going to take this, and that feels like a good thing.

    It's a nice change to be spending so much time playing as Bruce Wayne. Other games that say you get to play as 'Bruce Wayne' just make him Batman in civilian clothes, here you're actually thinking about different things.

    Nobody remembers the singer. The song remains.

    The Tales pedigree has me interested but this is going to be a wait-and-see for me right now. Nothing wrong with the first chapter being build-up, but I'm curious if it can deliver.

    I remember the worst scene in wolf among us episode 1, in which somebody has obviously roughed up mr toad's house but you have to go through like 20 minutes of dumb puzzle solving to get him to just admit it

    tales from the borderlands episode 1 was very good in how complete of a story it was, another game could have easily stretched the case of money plot into two or three episodes

    I really liked Michael Caine as Alfred

    I even liked Jeremy Irons as Alfred

    But if you don't have Michael Caine or Jeremy Irons, you need to take a different tack with how you write Alfred, because we've seen this song and dance before
