Spent most of the day on Twitter following Laura K Buzz (a British Game Reviewer) tweeting about wrestling. She had a friend over who was introducing her to NXT all day long up to Takeover. There is something just so fun about following someone who is learning about wrestling and just embracing the fun. Asuka, Bayley, Joe, and Nakamura were her highlights of the day. That and learning about Izzy and her following of Bayley from Twitter followers. I don't know why but I love watching peoples reactions to being introduced to wrestling and discovering the fun and sillyness of the show/entertainment.

Taking a closer look now at the SummerSlam card and it's such a massive bummer

Charlotte vs. Sasha, Cena vs. Styles and the six-woman tag is basically it for me, and even then six person tags usually end up being ehhhhhh

Every other match, I don't like one or both of the competitors

The last few PPVs have mostly been on point too, so it's weird to look at their huge summer event and see this

Maybe they'll pull it out, who knows! I've seen them with more dire cards before only to have them pull out a great performance

Watching the end of Takeover. Joe had the heck knocked out of his face. Don't know if he had teeth knocked loose or his jaw rocked hard but I think he took one to many moves hard during that bout and thats what caused the ref to throw the X at the end. Still...definitely one of the best matches of Takeover.

When he turns to camera after that first kneeling Kinshasa he is clearly holding his jaw....then like the boss he is he took another for the finish.

Also Cody Rhodes is not only against the anti-WWE Evolve faction of Galloway, EC3, Hero, and DUSTIN but they seem to be treating him like Evolve's top babyface. After only two days and two matches with the promotion.

I actually think Smackdown's women's roster is ok right now. They're building up six women who matter (Becky, Alexa, Natalya, Naomi, Carmella, and well, Eva). Meanwhile on Raw, you've got Sasha, Charlotte, Dana, Nia, and that's IT. Paige is hurt/suspended, it's clear that they don't see Alicia Fox as anything other than enhancement talent at this point, and Summer Rae hasn't been on tv since the draft (I'm assuming she's on Raw).

So yeah, send Bayley to Raw and have her feud with Nia or Charlotte for a while and then start working towards Sasha as we get on towards Mania.

It was absolutely terrible. The crowd was super hot after the previous match, and was absolutely dead two minutes into the match. Thatcher is a charisma void and I don't know if he takes all the blame. I've seen Gulak be great before, but not yesterday. I don't give a fuck about Thatcher's redemption and no one else did either. I've never been in a crowd that restless and bored (to be fair I've been to like 8 shows so I'm not that experienced). Wrong place on the card to try that type of match.

Thatcher turned heel at Evolve 67 but that won't help people not caring about him.

I'm just not very interested in seeing Bayley feud with Nia or Sasha right now. The latter we've seen plenty of and the former just happened.

Smackdown could use the star power and the matchups feel more fresh.

Takeover was neat. I'd like to watch it again without a piece of human trash behind us being racist/sexist/homophobic/just generally everything wrong with wrestling fans, but it was pretty great seeing a big ppv-type show live., which was awesome even if I prefer the smaller shows after going I even got to see my first O-Face live, which was on my list forever! The O-Face is seriously the coolest fucking move. And I got to see Nakamura live for the first time (@hailtothekale has seen him before but I have no tolerance for RoH so I have not). It was a good birthday gift.

Today, we've got the j-cup finals, the CHIKARA network special, and maybe one more wrestling show if there's time and one is on. We'll play it by ear.

That's incredibly disappointing about Gulak's match. Also, what was up with Hot Sauce? I saw that he got taken out before the match that he was in and didn't wrestle?

The problem with the O-Face is it's probably not the best move to do on a constant basis for your overall health.
