The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I started a rewatch of Spectacular Spider-Man and maaaaaaaaaan, it is such a tragedy that the creators never got to fulfill their vision for the show. It was so well made. It's like if Batman - The Animated Series had been cancelled a couple dozen episodes in.
Still making my way through Eureka, and I've hit Season Three, aka "We didn't have much of a budget so Degree Antiperspirant mentions EVERYWHERE~!". Also it was an oddly paced (well, more) season since this is when the Writer's Strike happened.

After the cool future stuff they decided will never happen, dropping the artifact, and Evil but not really Henry I just stopped caring about Eureka
Also they did the goddamn worst thing a show can do
They stayed in a fucking alternate timeline! Fuuuuuuuck you!

I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
I can't find it online but I just saw a commercial on TV for Cadbury milk chocolate bars and I swear to Christ it was a whole shitload of the miners/minors from Galaxy Quest eating chocolate and freaking the fuck out, like exactly those little dudes from Galaxy Quest
of note-
another video of the same ad, titled "Two suns in TV commercial" with a video description of "Hello. While enjoying the 2016 Rio Olympics games on CBC (Canadian TV station mainstream media), this commercial for Dairy Milk candy bars intrigued me. Right at the beginning, keep your eyes on the horizon, watch the sky to the left of the rocket as it takes off. Note the two suns. Then enjoy the rest of the commercial with the crazy alien sugar buzz dance.
Of interest is the subtlety of the two suns, especially at this time with so much information and hype on the web regarding the approach of Nibiru/Nemesis. That's all for now. Take care. Oh."
Why shouldn't this dumbass commercial that made me question my grip on reality be the harbinger of our doom
Do you like my photos? The stupid things I say? The way I am alive? You can contribute to that staying the same through the following link
I wonder if they will answer why Thomas decided to help launch them into space

By the way y'all, with fall tv bring in all sorts of new television my roommates shit-talk me every time I groan/complain about a new shitty-looking tv show.
They do this because I watch Gotham.
That is the cross I must bear.
And my best friend does this in one hand and with the other hand tells me how I ought to watch The Walking Dead for its nuanced storytelling and superb narrative.
TV writers, especially for the types of shows that end up on broadcast networks are out of touch and just do whatever thing they think is good for that year. Some good will come out of it too though. At least some of those shows (I imagine Zorn is one of them based on the creative team that made it) will be poking holes in the toxic masculinity and not espousing that all men should be traditionally masculine.
We've come a long way with sitcoms at least, where they have racially diverse casts, more successful shows of minority families (Black-ish, Fresh off the boat, etc.). There's always going to be trash of course.
I like that this season there seems to be at least a couple shows with disabled characters in featured roles. That new Minnie Driver show Speechless has its pilot on preview on Hulu and it was pretty good. There's another new ABC show that doesn't look very good, but does seem to be trying to show what a kid with real OCD looks like.
I laughed once when he was lamenting to himself how much his son sucks, and then also the show got mildly more interesting near the end. I'll give it another chance, but if the next episode is the same or worse i'll probably not bother.

The others are just sad
I love Lord and Miller and am a sucker for animation/live action mash ups and also Tim Meadows
but man that first episode was mediocre

Timothy Olyphant was on Conan again
For the love of god, someone give this man a new TV show

mediocre is being too kind
now that the soup is no longer on the air i'm okay with joel mchale disappearing forever
I didn't see it, but I bet it was his best role.
the only spider-man movie with two soup hosts
no wonder it's so good
And a stunt Punisher!
nah
the only thing i liked him in is gone now, tho
Initially I was like, "that's a strong reaction to some car commercials"
But yeah, that show is like the epitome of the "things used to be better back in the day" fallacy that I can't stand
I feel bad for him, he deserves much better
And oh god, Sam Elliott looks like the Grinch and is terrifying.
