It's cool, we already know he's a douche after his hostile workplace scandal a few years back. He won a historically democratic district on the margins, and after that they shifted his district from mostly Latino to mostly white republican. Since then he's been winning by much larger amounts.

This morning, there's a post on the front page that says something to the effect of "To quote a wise thing Rush Limbaugh once said, polls aren't there to inform, they're to influence" and talking about how the only reason Hillary is ahead in polls now is that the dems are somehow cheating the polls to discourage people from going out to vote for Trump. They sincerely believe that secretly Trump is way up in the polls and on election day the jig will be up and he'll win in a landslide.

I have a 'friend' who in all sincerity is pushing a narrative of "they count a vote for Hillary twice in the polls, that's the only reason she's ahead".

I am a bit frustrated however, that these folks only start fleeing the ship after Trump uses impolite language to brag about being able to sexually assault people because he's famous. Like, the racism, sexism, and hate were already there. They were not difficult to see, or hidden. It all feels like saving face now. I'd be happy to be proven wrong; I'd be happy to see these people dump the Republican party overall, but I don't see that happening. The GOP is the one who's enabled Trump, he didn't come to be their nominee in a vacuum, he came to be the nominee because that's the result of the shit they've been slinging to their base since around Nixon.
