Hell fucking yes this suited up walk through Kamurocho

this villain rooftop monologue is so dumb and also the most Yakuza thing i've ever seen

I never ended up playing Yakuza 5, so I don't know for sure

But Yakuza 4 might have the most Yakuza ending possible

Rest assured, 5 does not top it. In fact, 5's ending is a hot mess.

God Yakuza 0 is so good.

It's so good it sold me a copy of Yakuza Kiwami when that comes out.

I need more manly punching and Majima.

    Chapters 14-16:
Damn does a lot of shit happen in this game, it's nice to know making batshit insane offers to the yakuza runs in the family, shame it didn't work so well the second time. I think every time Kuze is on screen with Kiryu throughout the entire game I've been shouting "FUCK HIM UP,KIRYU" with increasing intensity. That torture scene was pretty intense, especially the last blow. Also I wanna know that trick to just throw off a blazer and button up long sleeve shirt cause damn does that sound handy at the end of the day

I just started the finale and thought there was a point where you got free reign to change characters? Is that here? Part of me wants to go and do a bunch of side stuff, buy all the properties, get all the beast abilities, etc, but the other part just wants to see the end.

New game +, maybe? Honestly, just get to the end if you're just doing grinding, you won't regret it

I beat Yakuza 0 finally with a time of 55:21 and 24.06% completion.
It was nice to see Kiryu get out of that tacky ass suit into the suit he has for what, the rest of the series? On the other hand Majima's transition into that Yakuza 1 outfit was real fuckin rough. That hair is so bad. I'm glad Sagawa bit it in the end, I'm actually kinda surprised Nishikiyama survived the whole game, he just screams sidekick who gets killed off. I find the attempts to stop both characters from becoming killers kinda weak because I have seen their fighting styles. They have absolutely killed scores of people.

Also, was the final stinger something for 1? They didn't ever meet in this game right?

I think this game's secret weapon is the sound cues

This kid wants some porn and can't have it, hit the "sad music" button

Finally got around to beating this, and aside from a bit of an annoying final boss (seriously dude stop interrupting my combos), this game was incredible start to finish. bring on Kiwami and hopefully a remake of 2 as well, or at least a re-release of it on PS4. Hell, give me 0-part 2 set in 1995 while you're at it, I will buy them all forever.

So I just finished Dragon Quest 11... next game is Yakuza 6. Put a few hours into it already. Its pretty fantastic so far.

The best part so far is the Rizap inclusion. In Japan there are commercials for this gym place called Rizap, where it shows before and afters with a catchy theme song.
Anyway, when I was looking around the very familiar Kamurocho I saw they added a Rizap gym. So I checked it out, they go off about joining and getting a personal trainer. You do that, then get food advice after working out and go eat. When you go back you get rated on the food you ate and then BAM... the game gives Kiryu is very own Rizap commercial. Exact same format and everything. It was hilarious... it might not be that interesting when it comes to the west though, since the reference is only funny if you watch Japanese TV often.

Also, the game picks up with a few flashbacks right from where Yakuza 5 left off.
Combat was tweaked a bit too, nothing huge... but feels smoother and like they combined Yakuza 0's combat into one style. So you pick up and instantly attack with nearby weapons without having a special style just for that.

Yakuza 6 has a release date in english: March 20. Honestly earlier than I expected.

The collectors edition comes with 2 engraved bar glasses (with kiryu's dragon), ice stones and tojo clan coasters.

Oh man... Yakuza 6 is just getting better and better already.

Let me sum up the last 2 hours of me playing.... "Here, hold this baby while I smash this guys face in". No joke, Kiryu is on a mission to get that baby some milk dammit!

Also the live chat in this one is hilarious. Watching Kiryu type with 2 fingers to some pre-recorded real girl in a room of guys saying "Oppai, oppai!" Its hilarious. Oppai = boob in Japanese btw.

I should probably mention also about Yakuza 6 when compared to Yakuza 0.

Yes both are PS4. However, Yakuza 0 compared to 6, is more like a PS3 upgraded game in look and feel. Yakuza 6 feels like it has been reworked in many more areas and feels like a more next-gen thing in comparison. Just everything about it feels more than just a fresh coat of paint.

I imagine that's because 0 was also released on PS3 so they probably wouldn't have done a huge amount of work to upres it. 6 is just on the PS4.

Also, 6 has two fancy editions, one of which comes with drinking glasses, coasters and what has to be too few drinking stones.

Kiwami is very much based around the tech of 0. It was cross gen in japan, and much of the game is based around 0's system, to the point of including the multiple styles combat system, pocket racer and even the (awful) catfights in the form of an arcade machine.

Coincidentally, because in the west we only got the ps4 versions of 0 and kiwami we completely missed the totally badass install screens
